One Girl Can Change The World

Realising the potential in one girl can impact the growth of an entire community.

Giving her a proper education could one day result in her being the doctor or surgeon that saves your life or the life of someone you love. The scientist that discovers new technologies that will improve the quality of all of our lives.

Education is fundamental to achieving equality.
In today's society, we often focus on what makes us different instead of what makes us the same. One of the basic attitudes that exist in our culture is to regard girls as somehow different from boys when it comes to the recognition of their potential abilities.

By educating girls, entire communities can be transformed.
Girls play a vital part in our culture. They will grow up to be the organisers, the gentle artists, the major shapers of their families values and attitudes.

By providing girls with a full and equal education, we ensure that the future of the entire culture can be vastly improved. Why should we deprive the world of potential leaders, conflict resolvers and cultural raisers?

Our School.
We treat the girls who attend our school with the same rights and responsibilities as the boys. This has an impact at the school, in their homes, and when they graduate, in society.

If I had been taught Human Rights along with Religious Education... If I had been taught and drilled in the basics of communication and conflict resolution along with Social Studies... If I had been taught the basics of how to manage a budget and my personal finances along with Mathematics... If all my teachers had insisted that I look up any words in their subject that I didn't fully understand in a good dictionary while studying...
If all that had happened when I was at school, my life would have been at minimum a full 100% better. More productive, more creative, and far more satisfying.
If we had all been taught to learn the lessons of History instead of memorising a timeline, how much better and wiser would our entire global culture be today?
The current Education system is designed to manufacture the raw material for an industrial age. Fodder for factories and offices. To keep the world turning and profits rolling. It was never designed to prepare kids for life outside of that.
In the modern age, The Education System is no longer fit for purpose. It needs to change. We need to re-purpose our education system so that it prepares kids for full citizenship of the human race, and for all the generations of citizens yet to come.
What do you want the world to look like for your children, and your grandchildren? Because how we educate our children right now, today, will alone determine that future.
We have created a school in Karachi, Pakistan, that teaches all of the things I have mentioned and much more. We even have to open the school on Saturdays, as the kids actually demand to come and learn. They are eager, bright and are going out and changing their lives and the world around them for the better.
We have proven that it can be done. Please demand the same for your children, wherever you are.

How Do You Know If A School Is Good?
Taking Responsibility For The Future Of Our Children

Why do parents send their kids to school? I believe that it is because they have a dream of having the child grow up to be a person with skills. A person who will have good earning potential. Perhaps he or she will save lives. Or maybe invent something that will make the world a better place. They want the child to become an adult who is compassionate and caring To be able to look after themselves and others.

What happens in the school environment, impacts on the child’s knowledge, skills and attitudes. The place that influences the child the most after their parents is their school.
The focus of a well-taught student is towards how to use that learning to produce something that is worthwhile in life for others. This attitude in students leads to competent individuals and a prosperous nation.

So how do we know if a school is good? Look at the students. Can they apply the subject they are learning? Can they solve the problems of life that relate to that subject? If a student cannot apply the subject to their life, then the school has failed.
