Empowering future leaders at SZABIST University with “The Ethical Triple Helix: Leading AI-Driven Projects with Strategy, People, and Communication.” On November 30, MPM 1 A & B students explored ethical frameworks guiding AI governance, team leadership, and transparent communication.

Our expert speakers shared invaluable insights:

Mohsin Ali, Head of Commercial (Sales & Marketing) at SLGTrax, focused on ethical strategy, AI fairness, and governance.

Nasif Yasir, Senior Project Manager at HBL Mobile Banking, emphasized leading people, fostering collaboration, and re-skilling.

Mobin Nasir, Senior Joint Director at State Bank of Pakistan, highlighted ethical communication, crisis management, and trust-building.

Through real-world dilemmas and interactive discussions, participants left equipped to lead AI projects responsibly with strategy, people, and communication at the core.

A Guest Speaker Series was conducted for BBA First Semester students as part of the Principles of Management course, organized by Ms. Madiha Zeeshan, to connect management concepts with practical insights. The series featured Mr. Haris Tohid on Beyond the Job Title: Soft Skills That Make a Real Manager, highlighting the role of interpersonal skills and influence; Ms. Mona Daniyal on Time, Stress, and Success: Managing Yourself Before Managing Others, focusing on self-management and prioritization; and Ms. Sana Jawad on Lead from Within: Winning the Battle for Time, Stress, and Personal Mastery, emphasizing self-leadership and personal effectiveness. The sessions provided students with meaningful exposure to real-world managerial perspectives essential for future managers. Special thanks to PSO Mr. Kashif for his invaluable support and to Ms. Wajeeha and Mr. Fahad for their exceptional coordination as Program Managers, ensuring the smooth ex*****on of the series.

The faculty and students of MPM & MSPM Programs , FMS SZABIST University Karachi had the privilege to participate in an engaging panel discussion titled “𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗔𝗴𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗔𝗴𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆: 𝗙𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗹 𝘁𝗼 𝗘𝗺𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁,” hosted by the PMI Karachi Pakistan Chapter at IBA Karachi.

The session brought together industry experts, project management professionals, and academia to explore how leadership is evolving in fast-changing, agile environments.

Dr. Kamran Ahmed Soomro, head of Graduate Programs, Faculty of Management Science and Mr. Saleem Khan visiting faculty of MSPM program also attended the event besides Mr. Faiz Ahmed, Assistant Professor, FMS, who is also the Vice President of PMI Karachi Pakistan Chapter and one of the organizers of this event.

Our students actively participated in the discussion and connected with practitioners—gaining firsthand exposure to emerging trends in project leadership and the practical realities of today’s dynamic project ecosystem.

Our students were also appreciated for volunteering their services in organizing this event.

We were delighted to host Mr. Kapeel Kumar, Regional Head of Digital Underwriting at State Life Insurance and Founder of The Founders Space, for an insightful session on “The Future PM: Leading Project Integration & Change with Generative AI.”

The session offered a forward-looking exploration of how Generative AI is becoming the strategic glue in project integration. Mr. Kapeel discussed the shifting landscape of project management, the evolving responsibilities of project managers, emerging global PM standards, AI-driven risk prediction, dynamic governance models, and the essential skillset required for the future project professional. His talk provided MSPM students with a clearer understanding of how technology is reshaping leadership, decision-making, and project ex*****on.

This session was specially arranged for the MSPM program under the Faculty of Management Sciences at SZABIST Karachi, and it was thoughtfully organized by Mr. Saleem Khan, who ensured the students received valuable exposure to current and upcoming trends in the field.

We sincerely thank Mr. Kapeel Kumar for sharing his expertise and inspiring our students with his practical insights and forward-thinking perspective.

Dr. Noman Soomro led the HRM students of the BABS program on a field visit to Pak Suzuki Motor Company Limited. During the visit, the students had the opportunity to interact with Mr. Sohaib Bhatti, Head of Human Resources, and his team. They received an insightful briefing on the history of Pak Suzuki Motor Company Limited, as well as information about available internship and employment opportunities.

Dr. Noman Soomro also highlighted the importance of capstone projects, faculty consultancies, and case study development to strengthen academic–industry collaboration. The visit was successfully facilitated by Mr. Salman Bin Sami.

MS Project Management students explored the power of data in project risk management during an interactive session titled “Beyond Compliance: Data-Driven Risk Assessment in Project Management using Jamovi.”

Facilitated by Dr. Laeeq Razzak Janjua, Compliance Officer – TMF Group (Poland) and Lecturer – WSB University, Poland, the workshop bridged analytical tools with real-world project risk practices.

Organized under the guidance of Dr. Tahir Mumtaz Malik, Assistant Professor, Department of Management Sciences, the session enhanced participants’ research and analytical competencies through practical Jamovi-based exercises on descriptive analysis, correlation, and regression modeling.
