The Outreachy internship program provides you with the opportunity to contribute to open source projects, learn from experienced FOSS contributors, and get paid while doing all this remotely.

We are making a change!!!
A great change in number of selected contributors in Google Summer of Code is observed this year. There were only 6 student got selected last year in GSoC from Pakistan but this time we encouraged and guided students on how to avail the GSoC opportunity and this year we are able to double the number of students that is 12 in number.

Representing Nimra Khan, she is an in Intern at Micro Electronics Research Lab - MERL UIT and a 3rd year undergraduate student at UIT University. She has proven that circumstances and the conditions doesn't matter when you have talent, consistency and believe in hardwork. We congratulate her on getting selected as the contributor in Google Summer of Code 2022 by CROSS organization from University of California Santa Cruz, in the project “DEMOS and TUTORIALS for VLSI opensource tooling”. Like this, many talented individuals should participate in open source communities like Outreachy, LFX mentorship, etc. to showcase Pakistani talent on global level.

We are extremely happy to announce another contributor Kinza Qamar, she applied many times in different opportunities like GSoC, LFX, Outreachy but got rejected. Each failure was making her more stronger and this year in Google Summer of Code 2022 she proved herself and got selected to work with famous nonprofit organisation which is working to enable opensource hardware/silicon named as FOSSi Foundation.

We congratulate Talha Ahmed on his selection in Google Summer of Code as a contributor. He will be working with CROSS - University of California for the next three months on project "Register File Generator".
Last year there were total 6 contributors were selected from Pakistan in Google Summer of Code and this year only 5 are selected from UIT University and Talha is one of them.
Thanks to Open Intern community for guiding these students and helping them to recognize themselves on word map.
