Public representation is a great responsibility and a trust. Its fundamental purpose should be to serve ordinary people, especially the poor and vulnerable, and to ensure the protection of their rights, beyond political interests.
Whenever an elected representative or an influential person misuses their authority, power, or position to oppress poor and helpless people, it is considered a serious violation of public trust.
Misuse of Authority
The misuse of power continues to occur at the hands of such individuals who consider themselves above the law. This results in the destruction of public trust.
Destruction of Public Trust
Power and political authority should always be used for the welfare, education, health, and protection of the people. When these powers are used to demolish people's homes, forcibly occupy their lands, or file baseless cases against innocent people, the social and political structure is severely damaged.
Absence of the Rule of Law
When poor people are deprived of their resources through the use of force and influence, it is evidence that institutions and the law have failed to play their proper practical role.
Moral and Social Standards
True public representatives are those who, even after gaining power, never use their authority to demolish someone's home, occupy another person's property, or become a source of suffering for innocent people.
The cries, pleas, and suffering of the oppressed, as well as the unjust humiliation and coercion inflicted upon innocent people, are morally unacceptable.
Power is Not Permanent
Power and authority do not last forever. However, the conduct of public representatives, their decisions, and the way they treat the people will remain recorded in the pages of history.
The fundamental requirement of social justice and a balanced democracy is that rulers and public representatives should use their power not for personal or group interests, but to support the oppressed and work for the restoration and protection of their rights.
