Signs of Inclusion: An Introduction to ConnectHear & Pakistani Sign Language

On 8th May, 2026, four passionate SSLA students collaborated with ConnectHear, and successfully organized an Information session cm Workshop in the cozy space of the Ardeshir Cowasjee Center for Writing (ACCW). In the warm, inviting space, ConnectHear’s team, led by Ms Naveen Amir, walked us through their mission, shared essential etiquette for communicating with the Deaf community, and most memorably, taught us our first words in Pakistani Sign Language: Hello. Good Morning. Yes. No. Sorry.

The event was proudly attended by around fifteen people, including the Office of Student Affairs (OSA) and the Office of Diversity, Accessibility & Inclusion (ODAI). Although the session left us with valuable insights, our most powerful takeaway was that true accessibility begins with the willingness to show up, engage, and meet people where they are. Because inclusion isn't just a value, it's a practice. And it starts with a single sign.

Applications for the Rhodes Scholarship for Pakistan open on 1 June 2026!

The Rhodes Trust offers one of the world’s most prestigious and fully funded postgraduate scholarships at University of Oxford.

Each year, 2 exceptional scholars from Pakistan are selected to pursue postgraduate studies at Oxford across a wide range of disciplines. The scholarship covers:

Applications for the next cohort will open on June 1, 2026, for enrolment in Summer/Fall 2027. Up to 130 scholarships and awards will be offered.

• August 19, 2026 — All other applicants

The scholarship supports admission to 150+ eligible master’s programs and professional degrees at McGill University.

From classroom concepts to real-world operations 🔍✨

Students IBA Public Speaking Society, recently visited the Bisconni Factory at Ismail Industries following an invitation by MUNIK Chief Guest, Mr. Miftah Ismail. The visit offered a comprehensive look into large-scale FMCG manufacturing, from raw ingredients to final packaging, across popular product lines like Chocolato, Cocomo, and digestive biscuits.

Participants gained valuable insights into quality control, safety and hygiene protocols, production efficiency, packaging standards, and compliance with health, halal, and export regulations.

A truly engaging experience that bridged theory with real-world industry exposure.

The Faculty and Course Evaluation for the Spring Semester 2026 will open on Monday, 20th April 2026, and close on Monday, 4th May 2026. Please note that no extensions will be granted beyond the deadline.
