سلطنت عمان کے سلطان *"قابوس بن سعید "* کا پروٹوکولز کے بارے میں اپنا خاص نظریہ تھا۔ وہ زندگی بھر کسی شخصیت کے استقبال کیلئے ہوائی اڈے نہ گئے۔ مگر ان کی یہ عادت اُس وقت ٹوٹ گئی جب انہوں نے انڈیا کے صدر شنکر دیال شرما کا ہوائی اڈے پر جا کر استقبال کیا۔

حکومتی اراکین اور عہدیداران اس بات پر حیران و پریشان تو تھے ہی صحافیوں کیلئے بھی یہ سب کچھ انوکھا اور حیرت و تعجب کا سبب بن گیا تھا۔

سلطان قابوس انڈین صدر سے اس کے جہاز میں کرسی پر سے اٹھنے سے پہلے ہی جا کر گلے ملے، اس کے ساتھ ہی ہاتھوں میں ہاتھ ڈالے جہاز سے نیچے اترے، جب کار کے نزدیک پہنچے تو ڈرائیور کو اُتر جانے کا کہا، خود جا کر کار کا دروازہ کھولا، مہمان کو بٹھایا اور خود ہی کار چلا کر مہمان کو اپنے محل میں لائے۔

بعد میں جب صحافیوں نے اس بارے میں سلطان سے سبب پوچھا تو انہوں نے جواباً بتایا: *"میں ایئرپورٹ پر انڈیا کے صدر کے استقبال کیلئے ہرگز نہیں گیا۔ میں ایئرپورٹ پر اس وجہ سے گیا ہوں کہ میں نے بچپن میں انڈیا کے شہر پُونا کے ایک سکول میں تعلیم حاصل کی ہے۔ جناب شنکر دیال شرما اس وقت میرے استاد ہوا کرتے تھے اور انہوں نے مجھے بتایا تھا کہ زندگی کیسے گزارنی ہے اور زندگی میں آنے والی
مُشکلات اور مَصَائب کا کیسے سامنا کرنا ہے۔ اور میں آج تک حتی المقدور کوشش کرتا ہوں کہ جو کچھ اُن سے پڑھا اور سیکھا ہے اسے عملی زندگی میں نافذ کروں۔"*

تو یہ تھی ایک استاد کی قدر و منزلت جو سلطان کے اپنے پروٹوکول نظریات سے انحراف کا سبب بنی تھی۔

آج بھی ایسے عجائب نظر آ جاتے ہیں اگر کوئی دیکھنے والا بنے تو:

کل کی ہی تو بات ھے جب روسی صدر پیوٹن کو اپنے استقبال میں کھڑے لوگوں کے ہجوم میں اپنی ایک استانی نظر آ گئی۔ پیوٹن نے سارے گارڈز، حفاظتی عملے اور حفاظتی حِصار بالائے طاق رکھ کر سیدھا استانی کو جا کر گلے لگا لیا اور وہ رو رہی تھی۔ لوگوں کے ہجوم میں استانی کو ساتھ لیکر باتیں کرتے اور چلتے ہوئے ایسا لگ رہا تھا کہ پیوٹن اپنی استانی کے ساتھ نہیں کسی ملکہ کے پہلو میں چل رہا ہے۔

اُستاد کی عزت و منزلت اور قدر و قیمت کی ایک تاریخ ہے۔ تاریخ سے ایک ورق ملاحظہ کیجیئے: مامون الرشید چھوٹا سا تھا تو اس کے استاد نے آتے ہی مامون کو بلا وجہ ایک ڈنڈا جڑ دیا۔ مامون نے درد سے بلبلاتے ہوئے اُستاد سے پوچھا: *"کیوں مارا ہے مجھے یونہی بلا وجہ؟"* استاد نے کہا: *"چُپ، خاموش ہوجا۔"* مامون اس بلاوجہ چھڑی مارنے کے بارے میں جب بھی استاد سے پوچھتا تو استاد کہتا: *"خاموش۔"*

بیس سال کے بعد یہی مامون جب خلیفہ وقت بنا تو اسے اپنے ذہن پر نقش وہ بلاوجہ کی مار یاد آ گئی اور اس نے اپنے استاد کو بلوا بھیجا۔ استاد کے آنے پر مامون نے پوچھا: *"جب میں چھوٹا تھا آپ نے مجھے ایک بار کیوں بلا وجہ مارا تھا؟"* استاد نے پوچھا: *"تو ابھی تک وہ مار نہیں بھولا کیا؟"* مامون نے کہا: *"اللہ کی قسم میں تو کبھی بھی نہ بھولوں گا۔"*

استاد نے مسکراتے ہوئے مامون کو دیکھا اور کہا: *"میں جانتا تھا کہ تو ایک نہ ایک دن مسلمانوں کا خلیفہ بنے گا۔ اور میں نے تجھے جان بوجھ کر بلا سبب پیٹا تھا تاکہ تو یاد رکھ لے کہ "مظلوم کبھی بھی نہیں بھولا کرتے"۔"*

استاد نے مامون کو دوبارہ نصیحت کرتے ہوئے کہا:
*"کبھی کسی پر ظلم نہ کرنا۔ ظلم ایک آگ ہوتی ہے جو مظلوم کے دل میں کبھی بھی نہیں بُجھتی چاہے جتنے بھی سال کیوں نہ گزر جائیں۔۔۔۔"*
