Education is a calling, not a cash cow.
When the pursuit of profit overshadows the purpose of education, it's our teachers and students who pay the price. The pressure to prioritize institutional gains—like high test scores, impressive enrollment numbers, and a positive public image—often forces educators to compromise on what truly matters: quality teaching and genuine learning.
Teachers are the heart of the classroom, but they are often caught in a system that demands more for less. This can lead to overwhelming workloads, stagnant wages, and the disheartening reality of being treated like a cog in a machine rather than a professional dedicated to shaping young minds. When we push teachers to their limits, we risk losing their passion, creativity, and ability to give each student the attention they deserve.
Let's remember that the true value of education lies in fostering curiosity, building critical thinkers, and empowering the next generation. We must advocate for a system that supports our educators, respects their expertise, and allows them to focus on what they do best: teaching.
