The Ponseti method is a non-surgical treatment technique used to correct congenital clubfoot (also known as talipes equinovarus), a common birth deformity where a baby's foot is twisted inward and downward.
Developed by Dr. Ignacio Ponseti, the Ponseti method for Clubfoot uses a series of gentle manipulations and plaster casts to gradually correct the foot’s position over several weeks. Key Components of the Ponseti Method:
(A) Manipulation – Gentle movement of the foot to stretch tight structures.

(B) Casting – Weekly application of plaster casts to hold the corrected position.

(C) Tenotomy – A small procedure (if needed) to release the Achilles tendon and correct equinus.

(D) Bracing – Use of a foot abduction brace (like the Dennis Browne splint) to maintain correction and prevent relapse.

Goals:
Achieve a functional, pain-free, plantigrade (flat) foot.
Avoid extensive surgery.
