A vibrant wave of green and white swept through our campus today as the students and faculty of GGSS Wali Muhammad Haji Yaqoob Campus, Lyari gathered to celebrate Pakistan’s Independence Day.
The environment was alive with nationalist spirit, featuring magnificent student speeches, tableaus, and patriotic tributes. The star attraction of the day was our Student Poster Competition, where young minds expressed their love for the homeland through breathtaking art. A huge congratulations to our position holders, who were honored with certificates of distinction for their brilliance and hard work! 🎨🏆📜
We pray that Almighty Allah forever shields our beloved country, grants us unwavering unity, and guides Pakistan toward a brighter, prosperous future. Aameen! 🤲💚

We GGSS Wali Muhammad Haji Yaqoob Campus Lyari extend our sincere gratitude to DEO South Imtiaz Ali Bhugio and TEO South Lyari Female Irfan Ahmed for providing our students with such a valuable and memorable opportunity today on 11th May 2026.

We are also truly thankful to The Dawood Foundation and the management of TDF MagnifiScience Centre for their excellent arrangements and warm hospitality.

Through this initiative, more than 200 students were facilitated with a visit to TDF MagnifiScience Centre, including pick and drop as well as lunch arrangements. The students thoroughly enjoyed the experience — to the extent that they were reluctant to leave.

Their feedback was truly heartwarming; many shared that despite visiting various places, this was one of the best experiences they have ever had, and nothing compares to TDF MagnifiScience Centre.

Such initiatives play a significant role in inspiring young minds and promoting meaningful learning experiences. We are deeply grateful for this wonderful opportunity.

Today 6th May 2026 was a proud moment for our school GGSS Wali Muhammad Haji Yaqoob Campus Lyari as a media team from the Information Department of Sindh visited to capture our school environment.
The team documented classroom activities and interactions, while students and teachers shared their experiences through short interviews. The visit reflected our continuous efforts towards providing a positive and effective learning environment.
The presence of TEO Irfan added significance to the occasion. Such visits are a source of motivation for both teachers and students to keep striving for better outcomes in education.

An Appreciation and Farewell Ceremony was held at GGSS Wali Muhammad Haji Yaqoob Campus Lyari to honor our outgoing Head Prefects for their dedication and leadership. Certificates, gifts, and bouquets were presented as a token of appreciation.
New Head Prefects were also introduced and awarded sashes, marking the beginning of their leadership journey.
Students who showed extraordinary performance were appreciated with gifts, and the Prefect Body was acknowledged for their continuous support and discipline.

On 26 February 2026 GGSS Wali Muhammad Haji Yaqoob Lyari proudly inaugurated a Water Filtration Plant in collaboration with WWF-Pakistan as part of its commitment to promoting health, hygiene, and access to safe drinking water for students and the surrounding community.

The inauguration ceremony was honored by the presence of distinguished guests, including Mehak Sikandar, Director WWF Pakistan; Imtiaz Ali Bhugio, District Education Officer (South); Yousuf Baloch, Member of the Provincial Assembly; Khalil Hoat, Ex-President District South; Munir Jan, President GASTA South; Munir Soomro; and Ghulam Rasool.
During the ceremony, the WWF team delivered a comprehensive and informative presentation on the importance of clean drinking water, water conservation, and the functioning of the filtration system. The honorable MPA appreciated the initiative and expressed keen interest in the project, recognizing its positive impact on students’ health and well-being.

This initiative marks a meaningful step towards creating a healthier learning environment and strengthening community collaboration for sustainable access to safe drinking water. The school administration extends its sincere gratitude to WWF Pakistan and all esteemed guests for their valuable support and cooperation in making this initiative a success.
