I always knew that our students needed to be challenged both cognitively as well as physically in order to develop holistically. Our hands contribute more to our brains than we can imagine so an immersive experience such as the process of paper-mache made sense. I did not foresee that it would develop into a small entrepreneurial workshop that would contribute to the financial livelihood of our small but impactful program fostering not only specialized education but a vocational center allowing for our young adult students to be gainfully employed while still nurturing there forever inner child. This process improves concentration and focus, eye-hand coordination, memory and recall, while giving our students a sense of purpose and a boost of self esteem.
