Strong family bonds are crucial for a supportive and nurturing environment. The Quran emphasizes the importance of maintaining family ties. In Surah Ar-Ra’d, Allah says,

"And those who join that which Allah has ordered to be joined and fear their Lord and are afraid of the evil of [their] account" (Quran 13:21)

This beautiful saying attributed to Imam Ali (A.S.) describes what true brotherhood really means.

A true brother is not merely someone connected to you by blood. He is someone who does not abandon you when life becomes difficult, does not forget you when you are going through hardship, and remains loyal when you need his support.
Many people stand beside us during happy and easy times, but difficulties reveal the sincerity of relationships. A genuine brother is the one who stands with you when you are struggling, considers your problems as his own, and does not leave you alone when you need him most.

The final part is especially meaningful: when you seek your brother's advice, he should never betray your trust or take advantage of your vulnerability. True brotherhood is therefore built upon loyalty, trust, sincerity, support, and genuine concern.
A strong family is not one where everyone only celebrates together; it is one where family members stand together during the hardest moments of life. ❤️

رسولِ خدا ﷺ کا یہ فرمان والدین کی قدر و منزلت کو انتہائی خوبصورت انداز میں بیان کرتا ہے۔ اس حدیث کا مطلب یہ ہے کہ والدین کی طرف صرف محبت، احترام اور شفقت کے جذبے سے دیکھنا بھی اللہ کے نزدیک باعثِ اجر ہے۔

والدین نے ہماری پرورش میں اپنی زندگی کا ایک بڑا حصہ صرف کیا۔ ماں نے تکلیفیں برداشت کرکے ہمیں جنم دیا، راتوں کی نیندیں قربان کیں، اور باپ نے ہماری ضروریات پوری کرنے کے لیے محنت و مشقت برداشت کی۔ اس لیے اسلام صرف یہ نہیں چاہتا کہ اولاد والدین کی خدمت کرے، بلکہ دل میں ان کے لیے محبت، زبان میں احترام اور رویے میں عاجزی بھی رکھے۔

یہ حدیث ہمیں یہ احساس دلاتی ہے کہ والدین کے ساتھ محبت کا اظہار کوئی معمولی بات نہیں۔ کبھی ماں باپ کے پاس بیٹھ جانا، انہیں محبت سے دیکھنا، ان کی بات توجہ سے سننا اور ان کے ساتھ نرمی سے پیش آنا بھی ایک ایسی نیکی بن سکتی ہے جس کا اجر اللہ تعالیٰ کے ہاں عبادت کے برابر ہو۔

خاص طور پر یاد رکھیں: والدین کی قدر اُن کی زندگی میں کریں، کیونکہ دنیا سے رخصت ہونے کے بعد محبت بھری نگاہیں صرف یادوں میں رہ جاتی ہیں۔

والدین کی خدمت کے لیے سفر

رسولِ خدا ﷺ نے فرمایا:

’’اگر والدین کے ساتھ نیکی اور حسنِ سلوک کے لیے دو سال کا سفر بھی کرنا پڑے تو سفر کرو، اور صلۂ رحمی کے لیے ایک سال کا سفر بھی کرنا پڑے تو سفر کرو۔‘‘

یعنی اگر تمہارے والدین تم سے اتنی دور رہتے ہوں کہ ان تک پہنچنے کے لیے دو سال کا سفر کرنا پڑے، تب بھی ان کی خدمت، اطاعت اور حسنِ سلوک سے پیچھے نہ ہٹو۔ اسی طرح اپنے رشتہ داروں سے تعلق قائم رکھنے اور صلۂ رحمی کے لیے بھی طویل سفر کی مشقت برداشت کرنا قابلِ قدر ہے۔

وَبِالْوَالِدَيْنِ إِحْسَانًا
”اور والدین کے ساتھ نیکی اور حسنِ سلوک کرو۔“
سورۃ الإسراء (17:23)

یہ صرف والدین کی خدمت کا حکم نہیں، بلکہ ان کے ساتھ محبت، احترام، نرمی، عاجزی اور اچھے برتاؤ کا جامع حکم ہے۔ قرآن ہمیں یہ سکھاتا ہے کہ والدین کے ساتھ ہمارا رویہ صرف اس وقت اچھا نہ ہو جب وہ ہمارے کام آ رہے ہوں، بلکہ ان کے بڑھاپے، کمزوری اور ضرورت کے وقت بھی ہم ان کے لیے رحمت اور سہارا بنیں۔

خصوصاً جب والدین بوڑھے ہو جائیں تو اولاد کو ان کی باتوں پر جھنجھلانا، انہیں ڈانٹنا یا ان کے سامنے بے زاری کا اظہار نہیں کرنا چاہیے۔ قرآن آگے فرماتا ہے:

فَلَا تَقُلْ لَهُمَا أُفٍّ وَلَا تَنْهَرْهُمَا
یعنی ”انہیں اُف تک نہ کہنا اور نہ انہیں جھڑکنا۔“

ذرا سوچیں! جس رب نے والدین کو ”اُف“ کہنے سے بھی منع کر دیا، وہ ان کے دل دکھانے، انہیں تنہا چھوڑنے اور ان کی بے قدری کرنے کو کیسے پسند کرے گا؟

والدین زندگی میں ہمیشہ نہیں رہتے۔

آج جو ماں آپ کے لیے دعا کرتی ہے، جو باپ آپ کی ضرورتیں پوری کرنے کے لیے اپنی خواہشیں قربان کرتا ہے، ممکن ہے کل آپ کے پاس صرف ان کی یادیں رہ جائیں۔

اس لیے والدین کو ان کی زندگی میں محبت دیں، ان کی موجودگی میں ان کی قدر کریں اور ان کے جانے کے بعد صرف افسوس نہ کریں۔

Meaning of Good Conduct

Abu Wallad al-Hannat narrates that he once asked Imam as-Sadiq (peace be upon him) about the meaning of the words of Allah (in the Qur’an): (And be good to parents.”) The Imam (peace be upon him) replied:
