Learn how ATA 1997 cases actually move in court at this practical workshop organized by Pakistan Legal Forum, founded by FUUAST alumni.

Pakistan Legal Forum is hosting an intensive session designed for law students and young advocates who want hands-on knowledge of the Anti-Terrorism Act 1997. The workshop will take you through the full lifecycle of ATA cases, from investigation and pre-trial to trial procedure and appeals.

You will cover jurisdiction and pre-trial under Sec 6, trial procedures and witness protection under Sec 19, and strategies for post-trial appeals in the High Court. The focus is on practical skills like ATC trial handling, forensic evidence, and bail procedures.

Federal Urdu University of Arts, Sciences & Technology Department of Law, in collaboration with the Young Believers' Alliance, recently hosted a successful career development session titled "From Law School to Litigation: Navigating Your Legal Career Path".

The event featured guest speakers who provided practical insights into skill development and the transition from academic study to professional practice. Aijaz Ali, a FUUAST alumnus and Associate at The Sarkar’s Law Firm, shared strategies on effectively navigating law school, while Barrister Fayaz Ali Metlo discussed the realistic challenges and learning curves encountered during the first five years of litigation.

The session concluded with the presentation of shields to the speakers in recognition of their contributions. YBA and the Department extend their appreciation to all organizers and participants—including Host Faisal Ilyas Soomro and Organizers Altaf Hussain Mastoi, Nizakat Ali Chang, Asad Ali Dino Maitlo, Mujahid Hussain Narejo, Yaseen Buledi, Kamran Masood and Jamshaid Ali for making this impactful session possible.

The 7th Semester students of the Federal Urdu University of Arts, Sciences & Technology Department of Law, FUUAST Karachi, successfully organized a seminar on "Anti-Encroachment Laws & Illegal Dispossession" on 21st April 2026.

We are grateful to our esteemed Guest Speaker, Mr. Zulifqar Ali Solangi, Former Anti-Encroachment Tribunal Judge & Advocate Supreme Court, for sharing his invaluable judicial insights on rights, remedies, and legal practice in encroachment cases.

The session helped students understand real-world application of law, litigation skills, and career opportunities in property and administrative law.

We appreciate the efforts of our students and thank Mr. Solangi for his time and expertise.

The Department of Law at the Federal Urdu University of Arts, Sciences & Technology recently celebrated a significant milestone in empowering our future legal professionals! 📚 Under the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme Laptop Scheme, 25 selected students from our department were awarded laptops to bolster their research capabilities and academic excellence. ✨

The ceremony was graced by the world-renowned scientist and former Chairman of HEC, Professor Dr. Atta-ur-Rahman (Nishan-i-Imtiaz), who emphasized that in the modern era of Artificial Intelligence and Quantum Computing, technology is the key to opening new doors for the youth. 🌐 Vice-Chancellor of Karachi University, Professor Dr. Khalid Iraqi, and Vice-Chancellor of FUUAST, Professor Dr. Zabta Khan Shinwari , also addressed the gathering, urging students to use these tools for genuine knowledge acquisition rather than just storage. 💻🏛️

The event was further supported by the presence of distinguished officials including Professor Dr. Raza Shah (Director of ICCBS) and Student Advisor Dr.Sadia Khalil. 🤝 The focal persons for the program, Imran Shahzad, Dr. Nazia, and Dr. Khurram Shahzad, were also in attendance to oversee the distribution, while the proceedings were professionally moderated by Rizwana Jabeen. 🎤

A total of 25 Law students received their laptops during this phase. 📜 The Department of Law congratulates these students and looks forward to seeing them utilize these digital resources to excel in their legal studies and research! 🌟⚖️
