A practice that clearly differentiates a Montessor system from a traditional school, is the mixed-age learning environment. For instance, children that are 2 years to 6 years of age, work in the same environment, instead of being separated by age. One benefit of this practice is that older children learn responsibility, exhibit leadership skills and also learn to collaborate with younger children.Such an environment inculcates the beautiful elements of help, empathy and care for one another in children..

EXPERIMENT ON THE SPEED OF LIGHT:

Our eyes can see objects moving at a certain speed. When objects or images move along a mean position, our eyes tend to merge the objects or their images.

WHY SCIENCE EXPERIMENTS FOR SUCH SMALL CHILDREN:
The science experiments offered in the Montessori classroom bring Cosmic Education to life. They enable students to develop scientific skills and delve more deeply into scientific concepts.
Children are naturally curious, and have a tremendous ability to observe even the smallest of details. The Montessori science experiments aim to give children the opportunity to learn about the world around them through simple activities .

Child working with sponge activity

What aim does this activity serve:

This is a great way for a child to practice their dexterity and gross motor skills, strengthen hand and finger muscles as well as learn about the properties of water in the process. They will intuitively begin to grasp the concept of absorption as they work with the sponge.

Child working with the stereognostic bag

WHAT IS STEREOGNOSTIC SENSE?

In Montessori education, the stereognostic sense is defined as an ability to identify an object by distinguishing its shape, texture, and consistency based on touch alone (by running fingers over the object), without seeing it.

WHY DO WE KEEP SUCH MATERIAL?

The senses, being explorers of the world, open the way to knowledge. They are the gateways of perception.Montessori provides sensorial materials for children to help them refine their senses in these essential years that will help them become better learners for all their life!!!
