The Diwan of the Ismaili Imamat in Lisbon was today the scene of a memorable event in the history of the Jamat, the Takht-nishini of Mawlana Shah Rahim al-Hussaini Hazar Imam, on his ascension to Imam, as the 50th Imam of Shia Ismaili Muslims.

Hazar Imam graciously accepted the pledge of allegiance made on behalf of the global Jamat by the President of Ismaili Leaders’ International Forum (LIF) and the Presidents of each National Council. For the first time, numerous Ismaili have been able to participate via live-streaming at Jamatkhanas from around the world.

Prince Rahim al-Hussaini Aga Khan V is the 50th hereditary Imam of the Shia Ismaili Muslims, as designated by Mawlana Shah Karim in accordance with the historical Shia Imami Ismaili Muslim tradition and practice of nass.

The announcement was made in the presence of the Imam’s family and senior Jamati leaders, in Lisbon on 5 February 2025, following the reading of Mawlana Shah Karim’s Will.

The Nur of Imamat, in unbroken hereditary succession from Hazrat Mawlana Ali (peace be upon him), is vested in our 50th Imam, Mawlana Shah Rahim Al-Hussaini Aga Khan V.

His Highness Prince Karim Al-Hussaini, Aga Khan IV, 49th hereditary Imam of the Shia Ismaili Muslims passed away peacefully in Lisbon on 4 February 2025, aged 88, surrounded by his family. Prince Karim Aga Khan was the founder and chairman of the Aga Khan Development Network.
Aga Khan IV born in 1936, is the 49th Imam of the Ismaili Muslims. He has dedicated his life to humanitarian and development work through the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN), which operates in over 30 countries. His efforts focus on poverty alleviation, education, healthcare, cultural preservation, and economic development.
His work has significantly impacted millions, improving quality of life and fostering social progress globally. But as usual the chain will continue as usual.

میٹرک اور ایف ایس سی آغاخان ہائیر سکینڈری اسکول کوراغ سے امتیازی نمبروں سے پاس کرنے بعد گریجویشن کے لئے الینوائے یونیورسٹی آف انجینئرنگ شکاگو امریکہ کا انتخاب کیا۔ الینوائے یونیورسٹی آف انجینئرنگ شکاگو امریکہ میں اپنی محنت کو جاری رکھتے ھوۓ اپنے والدین کی خواہش پر چترال کی تاریخ میں پہلی خاتون میکینکل اینڈ ایرو اسپیس انجینئیر کی شکل میں گریجویشن پھر ماسٹرز کی تعلیم مکمل کی ۔

واضح رہے نوشین اقبال امریکہ کے معروف کمپنی ٹیلسا میں بحیثیت پروجیکٹ انجینئر شمولیت اختیار کرلی ہے۔ نوشین ٹیلسا کمپنی میں ملازمت اختیار کرنی والی پہلی پاکستانی ہے۔

On behalf of WYSA we are grateful to SDFO Chitral for distribution of plants amongst the residents of waht cluster, plantation is one of the great effort to develop an eco friendly environment in areas like Chitral and GB where we are on high risk due to the global warming and immense rise of global temperature. Chitral and GB are going to be most effected areas in future due to the glacier melting which can cause into flood and intense rain and we may experience high temperature in spring and cold weather in winters too , as youth we appreciate the SDFO institutions efforts to carry ahead pm Imran khan billion tree 🌲 tsunami campaign all around Pakistan. We hope the resident of waht cluster will take care of newly planted plants and will take a productive step to marginalize global warming effects as well as a clean & green waht .
In the end we would like to thanks the SDFO team as well as the folks of waht to take part in this eco friendly activity .
