On 14th August 2026, Pakistan’s Independence Day, Rotary Club Jhang Saddar, in collaboration with Rtn.Umar Khan, celebrated the day with great enthusiasm by organizing a tree plantation drive in Makkah Town, Satellite Town, Jhang.

President Syed Hashim Taqi, Secretary Shuaib Sajad, Rtn Zahid Malik , Rtn Shehzad Rafique, Rtn Ahad Khan, Rtn Basit Gillani and all Rotarians participated in the activity . Students of the Interact Club of Jhang Garrison also actively participated and planted trees. Officers from the Forest Department were also involved in the campaign.

Syed Majid Zaman, Chairman PolioPlus Committee, Rotary Club Jhang Saddar, District 3272 Pakistan, Rotary International and Headmaster Muhammad Usman Sial of Garrison School System also participated in the celebration and planted trees. Interactor and Past President Syed Shanawar Zaman, Vice President Abdullah Tariq and Muhammad Taqi Zaman, Abdul Manan, Muhammad Fareed also took part in the plantation activity.

Approximately 500 plants were planted on this special occasion. The initiative was aimed at addressing the challenges of climate change, promoting a greener and healthier environment, and contributing towards making our planet safer and more sustainable for future generations.
