چوکیدار کے بیٹے نے پنجاب یونیورسٹی کا امتحان ٹاپ کر لیا
: پنجاب یونیورسٹی کے تحت بی اے بی ایس سی سالانہ امتحان 2018ء میں پہلی پوزیشن حاصل کرنے والے محمد عمر علی کے والد طلعت محمود لاہور کے لوہے کے گودام میں بطور چوکیدار ملازمت کر رہا ہے۔
پنجاب یونیورسٹی میں آج پوزیشن ہولڈرز کے اعزاز میں منعقدہ تقریب کے دوران پوزیشن ہولڈر کے والد طلعت محمود نے بھی اپنے بیٹے کے ہمراہ وائس چانسلر سے میڈل وصول کیا۔ طلعت محمود جب اسٹیج پر اپنے بیٹے کا انعام وصول کرنے کے لیے گیا تو سر پر انتہائی سادہ پھٹی پرانی ٹوپی، عام سی پلاسٹک کی کھلی چپل پہن رکھی تھی جس نے ہال میں بیٹھے تمام افراد کو حیران کر دیا۔
طلعت محمود بند روڈ لاہور پر واقع انمول کانٹا پر 1999ء سے بطور چوکیدار کام کر رہے ہیں۔ طلعت محمود کو ماہانہ تنخواہ 14 ہزار روپے ملتی ہے جب کہ وہ دن رات اسی گودام میں ہی سوتا ہے۔ طلعت محمود کا بنیادی تعلق گوجر خان سے ہے اور وہ تین مہینے بعد چھٹی لے کر اپنے بچوں کو ملنے کے لیے جاتا ہے۔
طلعت محمود پوزیشن ہولڈرز کے اعزاز میں منعقدہ تقریب میں شرکت کرنے کے لیے دو گھنٹے کی چھٹی لے کر یونیورسٹی پہنچا اور تقریب ختم ہوتے ہی وہ واپس گودام اپنی نوکری پر چلا گیا۔

طلعت محمود نے تعلیمی زاویہ سے گفتگو کرتے ہوئے بتایا کہ محمد عمر علی پر کبھی پڑھائی کے لیے دباؤ نہیں ڈالا تاہم وہ گھر میں باقی بچوں کی نسبت زیادہ ذہین ہے۔ اُن کا کہنا تھا کہ میں لاہور اپنے بچوں کے بہتر مستقبل کے لیے دو دہائیوں سے ملازمت کر رہا ہوں اور بیٹے کی پہلی پوزیشن پر جتنا شُکر ادا کیا جائے کم ہے۔
پوزیشن ہولڈر محمد عمر علی کے والد طلعت محمود کا کہنا ہے کہ سرکار اگر اُن کے بیٹے کی نوکری کا بندوبست کر دے تو گھر کی ذمہ داریاں شیئر ہو جائیں گی۔
پنجاب یونیورسٹی کے ان امتحانات میں مجموعی طور پر محمد عمر علی نے 712 نمبرز لے کر پہلی پوزیشن حاصل کی ہے۔ محمد عمُر علی گورنمنٹ سرور شہید کالج گوجر خان کا طالب علم تھا اور اس کے تعلیمی اخراجات میں کالج پرنسپل اور اساتذہ بھی تعاون کرتا رہا۔
محمد عمر علی پنجاب یونیورسٹی سے ایم ایس سی فزکس میں داخلہ لینے کا خواہش مند ہے۔ وائس چانسلر ڈاکٹر نیاز احمد اختر نے محمد عمر علی کو ایک لاکھ روپے نقد انعام، میڈل سے نوازا جبکہ یونیورسٹی داخلہ لینے پر مفت تعلیم، مفت رہائش اور وظیفہ دینے کا بھی اعلان کیا
