IEEE MUET Student Branch We are obliged to update you with all activities concerned with IEEE MUET Student Branch. We Arrange Student Internships every year for IEEE members.

The IEEE-MUET Student Branch at Mehran University Of Engineering And Technology Jamshoro, Sindh was founded in 2009. The Mehran University Of Engineering And Technology IEEE Student Branch is open to all students in the Electronics, Bio Medical, Electrical, Telecommunication, Computer System, Software Engineering Department. Our student branch concentrates on providing students with experience and

knowledge that cannot be obtained within a typical classroom setting. We do this by organizing tours of industries that manufacture electronic devices and electrical machines.

Successful Conclusion of IEEE ComSoc Virtual Distinguished Lecturer Session

The IEEE ComSoc Virtual Distinguished Lecturer (VDL) Session was successfully concluded on 20 August 2026, featuring Dr. Eirini Eleni Tsiropoulou, Associate Professor at Arizona State University and IEEE Distinguished Lecturer.

The session explored:

“From Interference to Intelligence: Green, Distributed, and Learning-Native Over-the-Air Computation for Next-Generation Networks”

Dr. Tsiropoulou shared valuable insights into Over-the-Air Computation (AirComp), intelligent wireless networks, energy-efficient communication, distributed learning, and AI-driven next-generation networks.

We sincerely thank Dr. Eirini Eleni Tsiropoulou for sharing her expertise and valuable knowledge with the participants. We also appreciate everyone who attended and contributed to making the session an engaging and insightful learning experience.

INTRODUCTION TO IEEE & ITS BENEFITS | Welcome Session for 26 Batch – TL & CYS

The IEEE ComSoc MUET Student Branch Chapter, in collaboration with the IEEE MUET Student Branch, successfully organized an introductory session on “Introduction to IEEE & Its Benefits” for the newly welcomed 26 Batch – TL & CYS at the TL Department, Mehran University of Engineering and Technology (MUET).

The session aimed to introduce students to the world of IEEE and help them understand how becoming part of a global engineering community can support their university and professional journey.

The session highlighted the key areas of IEEE, including:

• Global engineering and technology community
• IEEE membership and its benefits
• Technical societies and communities
• Conferences and technical events
• Research, publications and IEEE Xplore
• Education and learning opportunities
• Career development and mentoring

The session also introduced students to the IEEE MUET Student Branch and the different technical communities through which students can explore their interests, develop technical and professional skills, participate in activities, and take leadership responsibilities.

Jorge Axel Castruita Bretado, who holds a background in Robotics and Digital Systems Engineering from Instituto Tecnológico de Monterrey, Mexico, and has also studied Electrical Engineering and Information Technology at Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg, Germany.

With experience in robotics, digital systems, Formula Student, drone racing, IEEE RAS, and academic project work, he will share valuable insights on service robotics and how intelligent robots can be designed to interact safely and effectively with humans.

IEEE ComSoc Workshop on Next-Generation Backhaul Networks for Industrial Applications

IEEE MUET Student Branch was honored to participate in the IEEE Communications Society (ComSoc) Workshop on Next-Generation Backhaul Networks for Industrial Applications, organized by the IEEE ComSoc Karachi Chapter in collaboration with IEEE Karachi Section at the STEM Center, NED University of Engineering & Technology (NEDUET), Karachi.

The workshop brought together renowned academicians, researchers, and industry professionals to explore the future of industrial communications and digital transformation through 5G/6G technologies. The event featured an inspiring keynote address by Prof. Syed Sajjad Haider Zaidi on "Industrial Digital Transformation through 5G/6G Networks: Research Challenges, Innovation Opportunities, and Future Directions," followed by an engaging panel discussion with distinguished experts from NEDUET, MUET, the University of Leeds, Iqra University, and the University of the West of Scotland.

The discussions highlighted emerging trends in next-generation backhaul networks, industrial connectivity, collaborative research, innovation, and the role of advanced communication technologies in accelerating Industry 4.0. The workshop also provided an excellent platform for networking, knowledge sharing, and strengthening collaboration between academia and industry.

IEEE MUET Student Branch extends its heartfelt gratitude to the IEEE ComSoc Karachi Chapter and IEEE Karachi Section for organizing this outstanding event. We sincerely appreciate the efforts of Dr. Umair Ahmed Korai (Chair, IEEE ComSoc Karachi Chapter), Prof. Muhammad Imran Aslam, and Dr. Sundus Ali for their exceptional leadership and coordination.
