The 8th International Conference on Energy, Environment & Sustainable Development successfully concluded its two-day event at the Water Centre Auditorium.

The closing ceremony was graced by Chief Guest Adeel Shahid, while Conference Patron Prof. Dr. Muhammad Aslam Uqaili presided over the session. Guests of Honor Waqar Hussain Phulpoto and Sajid Ahmed Junejo also attended the ceremony.

Speakers underscored the urgent need for collaborative efforts among government, industry, and academia to effectively address environmental challenges, climate change, and sustainable energy concerns. Key discussions highlighted:

๐Ÿ”น Efficient water management and eco-friendly industrial practices
๐Ÿ”น Environmental challenges linked with rapid urbanization
๐Ÿ”น Promotion of renewable energy and reduction in electricity costs
๐Ÿ”น Role of research, innovation, and digital transformation

Conference Chair Dr. Tanveer Hussain Phulpoto shared valuable recommendations, focusing on cost-effective energy production, modernization of energy grids, climate financing, and incorporation of climate-related studies into academic programs.

The conference featured 66 research presentations and 59 poster displays, reflecting strong academic engagement and innovative contributions.

The event was attended by Prof. Dr. Khanji Harijan, along with faculty members, researchers, and students.

The 8th International Conference on Energy, Environment, and Sustainable Development (EESD 2026) was inaugurated at Mehran University of Engineering and Technology, bringing together global experts to address pressing climate and energy challenges. Engineer Irfan Ahmed presented a detailed analysis of Sindhโ€™s wind energy potential. Chief Guest Prof. Dr. Mujeebuddin Sahrai, Vice Chancellor of SMIU, highlighted global advancements in renewable energy. The session was further enriched by virtual contributions from international experts, including Italyโ€™s Dr. Alberto Maria Gambelli. Pro-Vice Chancellor Dr. Aneel Kumar and EERG Patron Dr. Muhammad Aslam Uqaili underscored the vital role of research in balancing energy needs with environmental sustainability.
Conference Chair Dr. Tanweer Hussain and the EESD 2026 team successfully convened industry leaders, policymakers, and academic experts from around the world. In addition to technical sessions, the event featured a book launch by Sarfaraz Shah and engaged a diverse audience of faculty, professionals, and students.
