Under Article 25A (right to education) Government of Sindh & Pakistan are responsible to provide each and every child (no matter living in Rural or Urban Sindh). If they cann't do so they should quite and confess the failure on their part.

Article describes the right as under:-

"The State shall provide free and compulsory education to all children of the age of five to sixteen years in such manner as may be determined by law."

As per latest news in local press, 135 children reportedly have been died so far in Tharparkar District in Sindh, Pakistan due to malnutrition. Neither Sindh government concerned authorities/ elected MPA/MNAs nor have Federal authorities been come on board to assist affected people in disastrous situation. No any action or strategy from Humanitarian Sector / UN Agencies has been seen so far. Complete anarchy is being observed with “Thari” children and mothers dying from hunger which is not justified.

We ardently requested to concern Development Sector Organizations and relevant UN Agencies to come forward with a rapid strategy to coup up the situation.

CEO SEWA participated in 3 days training session on M&E, RBM & LFA at Islamabad.

During assessment of villages/ locations having no school, Village Khan Muhammad and its surrounding villages (in UC Allahabad) have no school yet to accommodate 260 (boys/girls) students for primary school. SEF has given mandate to identify such location for establishment of schools under PPRS Program. There were several issues pertinent to WASH, livelihood and shelter in aforesaid location. people suffering from extreme poverty.
