The Angels of Slums

Those little children,
Cute little angels,
Purest hearts,
Divine smiles,
Brightest eyes,
Biggest hearts,
Sheltered in slums,
Under garbage drums.

No new cloths,
Nothing to eat,
No comfy beds,
Yet they see dreams.

Tired of hunger,
They fell sleep,
Disappointed in humans,
They still breathe,
Dirty,
Filthy,
And greasy,
They look.

Inside,
There is a child's heart.
A heart,
That wants the colors of joy.
A heart,
That craves for food.
An eye,
That needs sleep.
A soul,
That needs rest.
A body,
That needs cloths.

Don't hate them,
Because they are dirty,
They have a pure soul,
That's worthy,
Be kind to these poor souls,
Gift them a bit from what you hold,
They die every day,
In search of a life,
They see a dream,
That has no slums.

ILM School's Thandi Chaon Project in G11. VFA gardeners team of G11 were a tremendous help with clearing the area, digging the pits, planting the trees. ILM School has bought the trees and committed to their care for 1 year. After a year trees are strong enough to survive on their own.
