From Classroom Projects to Product Thinking

Last semester, I had the privilege of teaching Natural Language Processing (NLP) at Abasyn University.

My goal was not just to teach concepts, algorithms, or theory. I wanted students to experience how technology is used in the real world and develop an industry-oriented mindset.

Instead of assigning traditional academic projects, I challenged students to identify real-world problems, understand their target audience, and build solutions with the potential to become actual products. The focus was on innovation, problem-solving, market relevance, and entrepreneurship.

I am proud to say that several students exceeded expectations with their creativity, dedication, and ex*****on. Their projects demonstrated not only technical skills but also the ability to think like future founders, product managers, and AI innovators.

To recognize their outstanding efforts, I invited these students to our office, where they were awarded certificates of appreciation and cash prizes for their exceptional work.

Moments like these remind me that education is most impactful when it bridges the gap between academia and industry.

Congratulations to all the students for their hard work and commitment. The future of AI and technology is in capable hands.
