The 23rd Academic Council meeting of MY University Islamabad was held on Monday, 18th May 2026. The meeting was chaired by the Worthy Vice Chancellor, Engr. Prof. Dr. Jameel Ahmed, and attended by respected Deans, Directors, HODs, Registrar, COE, external members, and DG Academics HEC, Mr. Waheed Mangi.
During the meeting, the Academic Council reviewed the agenda items in detail, recommended key proposals, and made important academic and administrative decisions.

Higher Education Commission Pakistan hosted the 55th Vice Chancellors’ Committee meeting, bringing together over 100 Vice Chancellors and Rectors from public and private sector universities. Representing MY University, Dr Jameel Ahmed, Vice Chancellor, actively participated in the high-level forum, contributing to discussions on higher education reforms, policy initiatives, sectoral challenges, and future priorities for national development.
The meeting was chaired by Dr. Niaz Ahmad Akhtar, who also launched HEC’s fully online and paperless degree attestation system integrated with NADRA and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Key discussions also covered academic reforms, digitalisation, transnational education, and strengthening the quality and sustainability of Pakistan’s higher education sector.
During the session, Prof. Dr. Zia Ul Haq briefed participants on new policy interventions, university recognition guidelines, and the financial challenges faced by the higher education sector, while the forum also recognized excellence in research and innovation through national research awards.

MY University School of Law Islamabad successfully organized an insightful online lecture on 6th May 2026 in the School of Law Auditorium for LL.B students.
The worthy guest speaker, Honorable Unggul P. Satriyo, Judicial Judge at the Registrar Office of the Supreme Court of Indonesia, delivered an engaging lecture and shared valuable insights on the legal and judicial system.
The session provided students with an excellent opportunity to learn from an internationally distinguished legal expert and to enhance their understanding of comparative judicial practices.

MY University School of Law Islamabad organized an informative lecture on 7th May 2026 in the School of Law Auditorium for LL.B students.
The distinguished guest speaker, Dr. Yang Chen, Assistant Professor at Southwest University of Political Science and Law, China, delivered a comprehensive lecture on the topic “Structure and Evaluation of Legal Education in China.”
The session provided students with valuable insights into the Chinese legal education system, its academic framework, and evaluation mechanisms. The lecture also encouraged academic exchange and comparative understanding of legal education practices at the international level.

An Orientation Session for the Out-of-School Children (OOSC) Survey was successfully held at MY University. A joint team from NCHD, JICA, and PIE conducted the session and trained students on effective survey methods. A total of 83 students actively participated, showing great enthusiasm for this national initiative. The Honorable Vice Chancellor, Engr. Prof. Dr. Jameel Ahmed, graced the occasion and appreciated the collaborative effort. The event concluded with a group photograph and refreshments for the distinguished guests.
