Pleased to share that Dr. Shabbir Hussain, Head of Department, Media Studies, Bahria Humanities and Social Sciences School, and Dr. Farrukh Shahzad, Dean, Bahria Humanities and Social Sciences School, have contributed a scholarly entry on Indexing Theory to the Elgar Encyclopedia of Political Communication (2025).
This encyclopedia offers an authoritative overview of the field, bringing together foundational theories and cutting edge empirical methodologies. With contributions from nearly 600 scholars worldwide, it maps key debates, emerging areas of inquiry, and future directions for research.
Grateful to the editors and Edward Elgar Publishing for this platform, and to colleagues whose scholarship continues to advance the discipline.

Proud to share that Ms Madeeha Fashat, Senior Lecturer at the Department of Media Studies, Bahria Humanities and Social Sciences School, conducted a faculty development workshop at Bahria College Islamabad on Teaching Strategies for Gen Z ๐โจ
The session brought together dedicated educators to explore student centered teaching approaches that respond to the evolving learning styles, expectations, and challenges of Gen Z learners. It was an engaging and thoughtful discussion focused on making classrooms more responsive, relevant, and impactful.
Faculty development and reflective teaching practices are key to meaningful academic growth, and this workshop was a wonderful step in that direction.

The Admissions Interviews of the Bahria School of Humanities and Social Sciences were successfully conducted for the Department of Media Studies.
Interviews were held for the programs BS Media Studies, BS Television Broadcasting & Digital Media, and MS Media Studies. The prospective students showed great excitement and confidently expressed their motivation, passion, and enthusiasm for pursuing careers in the dynamic field of media studies.
We appreciate the efforts of the faculty, interview panel, and all applicants who made this process smooth and successful.
Mr. Ghulam Maaz Jan has expertise in film analysis, film critique, and screen adaptation, with a strong interest in understanding how narratives evolve across literature and cinema. His academic work focuses on analyzing films through critical, cultural, and aesthetic perspectives, enabling students to engage with both classical and contemporary media texts.
He shares insights into the Bahria Humanities & Social Sciences School Media Studies Department at Bahria University, highlighting its strong academic culture, state-of-the-art production labs, and hands-on learning environment that prepares students for the modern media industry.
