The Two Brothers
In a small village, two brothers, Ali and Bilal, grew up together. Their father worked hard in the fields, and their mother often reminded them, “Education is the key to a brighter future.”
Ali listened. He studied under the shade of a tree, using an old book and a broken pencil. Bilal, however, thought books were a waste of time. He preferred spending his days wandering around the fields, saying, “I’ll just do what Father does. Why do I need school?”
Years passed. When their father grew old, Ali had become a teacher in the city. He earned well, supported his parents, and even started helping children in the village get an education. Bilal, on the other hand, struggled to survive. Farming had become difficult, and without knowledge of new methods, his harvests were poor.
One day, Bilal sat under the same tree where his brother once studied. With tears in his eyes, he said, “If only I had listened, I would not be living in hardship today.”
Ali placed a hand on his brother’s shoulder and replied, “It’s never too late. Education is a lamp that lights every stage of life.”
From that day, Bilal began learning too—slowly, but with determination.
👉 Moral: Education shapes opportunities, builds confidence, and prepares us to face life’s challenges. Without it, even hard work may not be enough.
