Federal Directorate of Education (FDE), Islamabad was established as an attached department of Ministry of Education in 1967 for providing educational facilities at various levels in ICT. Upon devolution of the MoE, Federal Directorate of Education started working as attached department of Capital Administration & Development Division (CA&DD) since April 2011. The status of CA&DD was changed to Ministry of Capital Administration & Development in May 2012. The new government formed after General Election 2013, the MoCA&D was again changed to Capital Administration and Development Division w.e.f June 2013. FDE endeavors to provide conducive environment of teaching and learning with focus on academic excellence, surging desire for knowledge, attitudinal change including tolerance and compassion, developing a sense of purpose and high achievement with the vision for tomorrow.

🔬 Modern Science Labs for a Future-Ready Generation!

Federal Minister for Federal Education & Professional Training, Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, inaugurated the newly renovated state-of-the-art science laboratories at IMCB F-8/4, Islamabad, under the Prime Minister’s Education Reforms Program.

✨ Phase-I Highlights:
• 30 modern science laboratories renovated
• 15 Combined Science | 6 Physics | 5 Chemistry | 4 Biology labs
• Modern scientific equipment and improved safety facilities
• Activity-based workstations with water, gas & electricity
• Greater focus on hands-on, inquiry-based and student-centered learning
• Further, Lab Material & Chemicals, Lab Tools & Appratus and Kits have been provided to all Science Labs of FDE

📚 Phase-II is underway, with renovation of 60 additional science laboratories initiated, with special preference for rural and girls’ institutions to promote equitable access to quality science education.

Speaking at the ceremony, Secretary MoFEPT Mr. Nadeem Mahbub highlighted the importance of modern laboratories in strengthening practical learning and acknowledged the coordinated efforts of the Ministry, FDE, PMU and educational institutions.

Federal Minister Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui emphasized that science education must enable students to observe, experiment, investigate and discover, while developing creativity, critical thinking, innovation and collaboration.

اسلام آباد(ایجوکیشن نیوزرپورٹ) وفاقی وزارتِ وفاقی تعلیم و پیشہ ورانہ تربیت کے نیشنل کریکولم کونسل ونگ (NCCW) نے اقوام متحدہ کے پاپولیشن فنڈ (UNFPA) پاکستان اور ایکٹ انٹرنیشنل کے اشتراک سے اسلام آباد کیپیٹل ٹیریٹری (ICT) میں چوتھی جماعت کے لیے ڈیجیٹل لائف اسکلز بیسڈ ایجوکیشن (LSBE) لرننگ مینجمنٹ سسٹم (LMS) کے پائلٹ پروگرام کا آغاز کر دیا ہے۔ اس اقدام کا مقصد جدید ٹیکنالوجی کے ذریعے طلبہ میں عملی زندگی کی مہارتوں کو فروغ دینا اور تعلیمی نظام کو مزید مؤثر بنانا ہے۔افتتاحی تقریب اسلام آباد کالج فار بوائز جی-6/3 میں منعقد ہوئی، جس میں وفاقی وزارتِ تعلیم کے اعلیٰ حکام، یو این ایف پی اے پاکستان کے نمائندوں، ترقیاتی شراکت داروں، ماہرین تعلیم، اسکول سربراہان اور اساتذہ نے شرکت کی۔ تقریب کے مہمانِ خصوصی وفاقی سیکریٹری تعلیم ندیم محبوب تھے۔اپنے خطاب میں سیکریٹری تعلیم نے کہا کہ حکومت پاکستان تعلیم کے شعبے میں جدت اور ٹیکنالوجی کے فروغ کے لیے پرعزم ہے۔ ان کا کہنا تھا کہ معیاری تعلیم صرف نصابی کامیابی تک محدود نہیں بلکہ بچوں میں تنقیدی سوچ، مؤثر ابلاغ، درست فیصلہ سازی، مسائل حل کرنے کی صلاحیت اور ذمہ دار شہری بننے کی صلاحیت پیدا کرنا بھی ضروری ہے۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ لائف اسکلز بیسڈ ایجوکیشن کو ڈیجیٹل لرننگ مینجمنٹ سسٹم کے ذریعے متعارف کرانا اکیسویں صدی کے تقاضوں سے ہم آہنگ ایک اہم قدم ہے۔ڈیجیٹل ایل ایس بی ای پروگرام کے تحت چوتھی جماعت کا عمر اور صنفی حساسیت کے مطابق تیار کردہ نصاب جدید، انٹرایکٹو اور ڈیجیٹل انداز میں پیش کیا جائے گا، جس سے اساتذہ کو جدید تدریسی وسائل اور طلبہ کو دلچسپ اور مؤثر تعلیمی ماحول میسر آئے گا۔تین ماہ پر مشتمل یہ پائلٹ منصوبہ اسلام آباد کے 22 تعلیمی اداروں میں نافذ کیا جائے گا، جن میں وفاقی نظامتِ تعلیم (FDE) کے 8، پرائیویٹ ایجوکیشنل انسٹی ٹیوشنز ریگولیٹری اتھارٹی (PEIRA)، جائیکا اور خصوصی تعلیم کے تحت 14 اسکول شامل ہیں۔ منصوبے کے دوران ڈیجیٹل پلیٹ فارم کی افادیت، استعمال اور تعلیمی نتائج کا جائزہ لیا جائے گا، جبکہ اختتام پر ایک جامع تحقیقی و تجزیاتی رپورٹ مرتب کی جائے گی جس کی روشنی میں پروگرام کو مزید بہتر بنانے اور دیگر جماعتوں و علاقوں تک توسیع دینے کے بارے میں پالیسی فیصلے کیے جائیں گے۔اس موقع پر یو این ایف پی اے پاکستان کی ڈپٹی نمائندہ ڈاکٹر گلنارا کدیرکولووا نے کہا کہ لائف اسکلز بیسڈ ایجوکیشن نوجوانوں کو باخبر فیصلے کرنے، صحت مند اور باوقار زندگی گزارنے اور ذمہ دار شہری بننے کے لیے ضروری علم، اقدار اور عملی مہارتیں فراہم کرتی ہے۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ اس نصاب کو ڈیجیٹل لرننگ مینجمنٹ سسٹم سے منسلک کرنا معیاری اور قابلِ رسائی تعلیم کے فروغ کی جانب ایک اہم پیش رفت ہے۔تقریب میں ڈیجیٹل ایل ایس بی ای پروگرام پر تفصیلی پریزنٹیشن بھی دی گئی، جس میں لرننگ مینجمنٹ سسٹم کی اہم خصوصیات، نفاذ کے طریقہ کار اور مستقبل میں پروگرام کو مزید وسعت دینے کے روڈ میپ پر شرکاء کو بریفنگ دی گئی۔یہ منصوبہ نیشنل کریکولم کونسل ونگ، وزارتِ وفاقی تعلیم و پیشہ ورانہ تربیت، یو این ایف پی اے پاکستان اور ایکٹ انٹرنیشنل کی مشترکہ کاوش ہے، جس کا مقصد پاکستان میں جدید، جامع اور مستقبل کے تقاضوں سے ہم آہنگ تعلیمی مواقع ہر بچے تک پہنچانا ہے۔

Islamabad, July 17, 2026: The Federal Directorate of Education (FDE), under the directions of the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training (MoFE&PT), successfully completed the 8th cohort of its five-day Educational Technology Professional Development Program. The initiative aims to equip teachers with modern digital skills to enhance teaching and learning practices in FDE schools. During the training, participants gained hands-on experience in using Google Classroom, Google Forms, Mentimeter, Artificial Intelligence (AI), webpage creation, and interactive educational games for assessment and vocabulary development.
At the closing ceremony, Director Academics FDE distributed Certificates of Participation among the trainees. Participants expressed high satisfaction with the quality of the training and appreciated the expertise and dedication of the FDE Master Trainers. The Directorate remains committed to strengthening teachers' digital competencies through continuous professional development initiatives.

Islamabad, 17 July 2026: The Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training (MoFEPT) today hosted a signing ceremony for two Letters of Understanding (LoUs) between Nestlé Pakistan and the Federal Directorate of Education (FDE), and between Nestlé Pakistan and the Directorate General of Special Education (DGSE), to advance nutrition education and promote healthier lifestyles among children.

The ceremony was attended by the Secretary, Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training, Mr. Nadeem Mahbub, senior officials from the Ministry, Mr. Sheikh Waqar Ahmad, Head of Corporate Affairs and Sustainability, Ms. Zaira Ahmed, Manager Corporate Affairs and members of the Nestlé Pakistan team.

Under the Nestlé for Healthier Kids initiative, the partnerships will promote nutrition awareness, healthy eating, hydration, hygiene, physical activity, and responsible waste management. The collaboration with FDE aims to train up to 300 teachers and benefit approximately 10,000 students across federal government schools.

The partnership with DGSE will train up to 200 faculty members, therapists, and multidisciplinary professionals, reaching approximately 2,000 children with special needs. It also includes the development of inclusive learning materials and the establishment of dedicated resource rooms.

Speaking on the occasion, Secretary Nadeem Mahbub appreciated the collaboration and emphasized the importance of public-private partnerships in improving children’s health, well-being, and learning outcomes.
Mr. Sheikh Waqar Ahmad, Head of Corporate Affairs, Nestlé Pakistan, remarked that these partnerships reflect our shared commitment to improving children’s health and well-being through education. By working alongside public institutions, we can empower teachers, inspire healthier choices, and create a lasting positive impact for future generations.

FDE Celebrates Success of 'Summer camp & Fiesta 2026' with Appreciation Ceremony
ISLAMABAD — The Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) hosted an appreciation ceremony at its headquarters to honor the principals and organizing teams for the successful ex*****on of Summer Fiesta 2026 across federal educational institutions.
The ceremony was graced by Director General FDE, Mr. Javed Iqbal Mirza,who distributed appreciation letters among 19 urban and 12 rural area Principals. The prestigious event was also attended by senior leadership, including Deputy Director General Mr. Asif Iqbal Khan, Director (Colleges) Mr. Shahid Mehmood Abbasi, and Director (Schools) Dr. Ehsan Mehmood & Ms Sameena Zia (Director to DG) joined the leadership team in honoring the educators.
Ms. Riffat Jabeen, Director (Academics), highlighted that the initiative successfully utilized the summer break to engage students in skillful, practical learning.
In his address, Director General, Mr. Javed Iqbal Mirza formally thanked the principals, stating:
"I deeply appreciate our principals and teachers whose leadership made these camps a reality. Your dedication has proven how effective structured summer engagement is in developing student skills. These initiatives are essential pillars of holistic education that bridge the gap between academic theory and real-world skills."
Expressing their gratitude on behalf of all the principals Mr. Tahir Abbasi (Principal, IMCB Bhara Kahu) and Ms. Rozina Fahim (Principal, Institute of Home Economics Art & Design, F-11) thanked the Ministry of Federal Education (MoFEPT) and FDE. They emphasized that such experiential events are vital for developing practical skills and self-confidence, advocating for the Summer Fiesta to become a permanent annual feature.
The ceremony ended with the distribution of Appreciation Letters among the Principals.

Facilitated by FDE’s elite Master Trainers, this intensive program bridges the gap between state-of-the-art infrastructure and modern pedagogy. Teachers are mastering the practical deployment of advanced technological equipment and smart gadgets recently provided to educational institutions by the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training (MoFE&PT).
Going far beyond basic computer literacy, this future-focused initiative equips educators with the skills to:
• Maximize Classroom Gadgetry: Fully leverage MoFE&PT-supplied tech to create dynamic, interactive learning environments.
• Supercharge Lesson Planning: Design data-driven, highly engaging lesson plans that elevate academic absorption.
• Harness the Power of AI: Integrate Artificial Intelligence tools into daily teaching practices to streamline administrative tasks, personalize student support, and enhance pedagogical effectiveness.
