A moment of immense pride and joy as Muhammad Numan Umar, a 2nd-year student at NUST Law School, along with his team HUKM, emerged as winners of Pakistan’s first-ever “Rewiring Rights: Hackathon for Justice” — a national-level initiative jointly organised by the Supreme Court of Pakistan, National Commission for Human Rights (NCHR), United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), and the European Union (EU).
Competing among 150 teams from across Pakistan, Team HUKM comprising Muhammad Numan Umar, Minahil Rukhsar (SQA Engineer at NSTP–NUST), Faiza Mazhar, and Maryam Rukhsar secured 1st position and received a PKR 150,000 cash prize, awarded by Federal Minister for Law, Barrister Aqeel Malik, along with a development grant to build a real-world, user-friendly web portal for the Supreme Court of Pakistan.
Congratulations to Numan (LLB-24) and his team for this remarkable milestone, a proud reflection of NUST Law School’s spirit of excellence and its contribution to shaping Pakistan’s justice and technology landscape!

NUST Law School successfully conducted its first Orientation Program for the incoming Batch of 2025, held from 01 Sep to 3 Sep 2025. The event marked a significant milestone, welcoming the newest cohort of aspiring legal professionals and initiating them into the academic and cultural life at NUST.

The opening ceremony took place at the CIPS Auditorium and was honored by the presence of Acting Principal Dr. Muhammad Asim Iqbal, Deputy Director Admin & Coord Mr. Adnan Ahmed, along with esteemed faculty members and staff of NUST Law School. The session warmly received students and their families, featuring an engaging Q&A segment, an overview of NUST’s academic structure, student support services, and the distinctive learning opportunities offered at NLS.

Mr. Saifullah Hassan, Assistant Professor of Law at NUST Law School, Islamabad, attended the International Conference on "Pakistan: A Bulwark against Terrorism" organised by Islamabad Policy Research Institute (IPRI), held at the Marriott Hotel, Islamabad on 2nd July, 2025. The prominent panelists have analysed Pakistan’s counter-terrorism frameworks, regional security challenges, and legal strategies for combating extremist threats.

Ambassador Aizaz A. Chaudhry, former Foreign Secretary of Pakistan, visited the NUST Law School on 29 April 2025. During his visit, he delivered an insightful lecture on "International Law and the Changing World Order". Drawing on nearly four decades of distinguished diplomatic service, Ambassador Chaudhry shared invaluable perspectives with Law Students, shaped by deep understanding of global affairs and on-the-ground realities. He also expressed high praise for the academic standards and state-of-the-art facilities supporting legal education at NUST.

On dated 22nd Apr, 2025 Prof David Christie, Associate Dean of the School of Law at Robert Gordon University (RGU), Scotland, along with his colleagues, visited NUST.
During their visit, the delegation conducted interactive sessions with students & faculty at NUST Law School. Prof Christie delivered an insightful lecture on the topic “How Design Thinking Helps Dispute Resolution”, which was well received by the participants.
The visit also included a comprehensive tour of the newly constructed infrastructure of NUST Law School. The RGU delegation expressed high appreciation for the facilities and the academic standards of legal education at NUST.

NUST carried out a plantation drive around the newly constructed NUST Law School building. Led by Prof Muhammad Nawaz Wahla ( Principal, NLS), Dr Zulfiqar Ali Beg (Director, Field Administration Directorate), faculty members and students, around 95 pine trees and flowering shrubs were planted, adding both beauty and purpose to the evergreen NUST H-12 campus.
