Ever wondered why Alkenes are the "extroverts" of organic chemistry while Alkanes prefer to keep to themselves? It all comes down to the bond!
Check out this quick guide to understand:
Why pi bonds make Alkenes more reactive.
The meaning behind the name "Paraffins.
Why addition reactions are an Alkene's best friend.

Why is Benzene different from Alkenes?
Benzene contains delocalized π electrons, which makes it highly stable and resistant to addition reactions. Instead, it usually undergoes substitution reactions, preserving its aromatic stability.
In contrast, alkenes have localized π electrons, making them more reactive toward addition reactions.

Is education only about memorizing information?
For many years, students were evaluated based on how much they could remember. But today, information is everywhere. With the rise of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, machines can store and retrieve knowledge instantly.
So the real purpose of education should go beyond memory.
Education should help students develop the ability to think, question, analyze, and apply knowledge in real situations.
After teaching chemistry for 18 years, I strongly believe that the most important thing we can teach students is how to think scientifically.
Education should not just fill the mind with facts. It should train the mind to use knowledge wisely.
What do you think about this idea?

Can you spot the correct activation energy relationship.
In reversible reactions, activation energy is NOT the same for forward and reverse reactions 👀
✔ Exothermic reaction:
Ea (forward) < Ea (reverse)
✔ Endothermic reaction:
