The Organization of Pakistani Students and Soch: Columbia Pakistan Symposium stands in solidarity- and asks our network of Columbia students, alumni, and general Pakistani community to stand in solidarity- with the people of Kashmir, who are currently facing some of the greatest political unrest since the beginning of the creation of a divided India and Pakistan. The abolishment of Articles 370 and 35A of the Indian Constitution on August 5th marks the beginning of the complete colonization and occupation of Jammu and Kashmir by India, and brings with it an extreme threat of military violence and bloodshed. Kashmiris are currently under curfew, and are barred from all access to communication, including TV, internet, phones, and media. We hope that the Pakistani community continues to spread awareness, educate themselves on this ongoing conflict, and uplift the Kashmiri voices that have been silenced by the political unrest. Here are some resources to learn more about what is going on in Jammu and Kashmir.

Not every child is an A grade student. Why we must not let B/C/D be shameful. - Global Village Space
I’m about to go on a rant. I hate homework. Controversial, as I’ve been a teacher for 22 years and I’ve personally set hundreds of hours of homework in that time. But I am becoming increasingly aware of a society in which the only results that anyone wants for children, be it parental or for s...

Please help to support this Pakistani Columbia student - that was hit in a road accident. As an international student his health bills are very difficult for his parents to pay. Any help you can give will be appreciated.
In words of one of his freinds "There are few words that can be used to describe Shariq: kind, caring, vivacious are only some words that can describe his magnetic personality and incredibly joyful presence. He has been a vital part of our Columbia family, and has been a part of the Charles Drew Pre-Med Society, the Organisation of Pakistani Students, and the Asian American Alliance. Shariq has been a pillar of support upon which many of us have leaned on in times of distress over the past year. Talented, ambitious, and fiercely dedicated to using his education in the service of others, Shariq is at Columbia on a fully-funded scholarship as a Science Research Fellow with a 4.0 GPA. In short, Shariq is a gem. And his family, friends, and all who know him are just praying that he be granted a second chance at being the blessing to this world that he naturally is."
Please help to support him.
