Is Your Organization Truly Successful? Noor Qureshi
Monetary benefit is something almost everyone chases. Having the highest balance sheet with significant net profit is often seen as the measure of a successful organization. While there are many reasons a company may reach that level, is financial success the true criterion for inner happiness? If your answer is NO, then I believe you are on the right track.
To me, you are still successful—even the most successful—if your organization embodies these behaviors:
• People Over Profits: Your organization values human beings, not just revenue. Employees are seen as gifted blessings, not just resources to be utilized.
• Empowerment and Innovation: You empower employees not just in task completion but in fostering creativity and innovation.
• Fair Compensation: Your compensation model is not solely market-based but a fair percentage of your income. It’s unfair if machine expenses outweigh human salaries.
• Holistic Growth: Your organization prioritizes employee development through training, mentorship, and personalized coaching.
• Mentorship Culture: You are a mentor and a guide, even if it means allowing room for employee mistakes as part of their learning journey.

As we progress into 2024 and look towards 2030, we are likely to witness significant advancements in artificial intelligence and technology. This evolution will undoubtedly create employment challenges for individuals who lack the necessary tech skills or fail to adapt. Many jobs will increasingly require strong technological knowledge and application, leaving a segment of the population facing heightened anxiety and stress due to job insecurity.

Moreover, as technology advances, we risk moving towards greater individualism, which diminishes human connection and support in physical spaces. This decline in personal interaction can contribute to various mental health issues. With more people linked virtually, the complexities of human thoughts, feelings, and interactions become public, leading to increased exposure to conflicts, political discussions, and social pressures. Such dynamics can exacerbate mental health challenges, as individuals may feel overwhelmed by the demands and expectations of a digitally connected world.

In summary, while technological advancements in teletherapy and digital therapeutics are valuable, we must prioritize the importance of human connection to mitigate potential negative impacts on mental health.

The key to thriving in this era is to gain a deep understanding of human behavior, emotions, and cognition, allowing us to adapt to and shape the future of AI-driven changes. This transition will be pivotal until 2030, and beyond that, AI may begin to have more control over certain aspects of our lives. However, with a strong foundation in human psychology, we can ensure that we are ready to accept and manage these changes, keeping the balance in our hands.

Even when employees recognize bad habits, changing them requires considerable effort, discipline, and a long-term commitment.
