*Sound βxβ Week | Early Years II π©»*
This week our Early Years II students *skated with sound βxβ*!
To make learning stick, we did *X-ray Art* π¨ β children used Q-tips and white paint on black paper to create their own x-rays.
*They learned:*
- *Sound βxβ* says /k/ + /s/ and often comes at the end: box, fox, six
- *New vocabulary*: x-ray, xylophone, mix, exit
- *Fine motor skills* for writing through painting
- *Letter-sound connection* through hands-on play
From tracing βxβ to shouting it in songs, our little learners are now βxβ-perts! π

Science Journey β Life Cycle of a Chicken | Early Years III π
Our Early Years III scientists went on an exciting journey this week to discover βHow does a chick hatch?β
Egg β Chick β Chicken π£From egg to chick to chicken,
Our little explorers learned the life cycle of a chicken through hands-on activities, stories, and craft! Through this journey, students:
Observed and sequenced the stages:
egg β hatching β chick β chicken π₯
Built vocabulary, Developed curiosity, π§ Connected science to real life and developed care for living things π
The sparkle in their eyes when they acted out a chick breaking the shell was pure science magic!
In our classroom, science isnβt from textbooks β itβs experienced, felt, and lived.

Montessori Practical Life β Water Transfer with Sponge
| Early Years I Today, our Early Years II students practiced the beautiful art of transferring water from bowl to bowl using a sponge! This simple Montessori activity holds big lessons.
As little hands squeezed, soaked, and transferred water, our children were strengthening fine motor muscles for better pencil grip βοΈ developing hand-eye coordination and focus π learning control of movement through purposeful work π€² building concentration, patience, and independence π§ absorbing concepts of wet, dry, full, and empty through senses π‘
The joy on their faces when no drop was wasted was priceless! In Montessori, we believe work is play β and every sponge squeeze is preparing the child for writing, self-care, and mindful living.
Practical Life is not preparation for school, it is preparation for life.

*Montessori Transferring Activity β Early Years πΈ*
In our Montessori classroom, learning happens through _doing_ β and today our little ones mastered the art of *transferring water from jug to jug using a funnel*!
This simple yet powerful activity is much more than just play. As students carefully poured water without spilling, they were:
- *Developing fine motor skills*
- *Building concentration and control*
- *Learning practical life skills*
- *Exploring concepts of volume and precision*
Watching their serious little faces and steady hands was pure joy! Each drop transferred was a step towards patience, coordination, and self-reliance.
*Because in Montessori, every small movement prepares the child for a bigger world.* π

In Early Years III, we focus on preparing students for Grade I while gradually introducing foundational science concepts πβ¨
As part of this approach, we conducted a fun and engaging activity on living and non-living things π±πͺ¨. To make learning more interactive and memorable, we brought a chicken π and a pigeon π¦ into the classroom, allowing students to observe real living creatures and spark their curiosity π€©π.

In our early years program, children are given wonderful opportunities to grow, explore, and thrive π±
Through engaging, hands-on activities, we focus on enhancing fine motor skillsβhelping little hands gain strength, control, and confidence along with the development of bilateral coordination.
At the heart of everything we do is a commitment to nurturing each childβs potential in a fun, supportive, and stimulating environment.
