Isra University Organizes Expert Session on Managing Data From Source to Insight
Isra University, through its Office of Research, Innovation and Commercialization ORIC, organized an expert session titled “Managing Data From Source to Insight” on December 15, 2025. The session aimed to connect academic data management concepts with real world industry practices. Faculty members and students from various departments, particularly final year students, actively participated in the event.
The guest speakers met with Dr. Ahmed Waliullah Kazi, Vice Chancellor, Isra University, at his office, reflecting the university’s leadership support for initiatives focused on data driven learning and industry engagement. Opening remarks were delivered by Prof. Dr. Mutee U Rahman, Professor, Department of Computer Science, who emphasized the importance of data literacy and applied analytical skills.
The session was organized by ORIC under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Kamran, Director ORIC, and Mr. Haseebullah Memon, Additional Director ORIC. The technical segment featured Mr. Andrew Ge Hall, Lead Software Engineer and Founder of Integrant Labs and Co Founder of Healthcare Logic, and Mr. Umar Memon, Director and Founder of Webops, Lecturer at the University of the Sunshine Coast and PhD Scholar at the University of Adelaide. The speakers shared practical insights on enterprise data systems, analytics workflows, AI adoption, and real world healthcare data challenges.
An interactive discussion followed, during which students from multiple departments raised thoughtful technical questions, particularly on the future scope of artificial intelligence and machine learning pipelines, reflecting strong analytical engagement. Souvenirs were presented to the guest speakers, followed by a group photograph.
Discussions were also held on exploring potential avenues for future academic, research, and industry collaboration, aligned with Isra University’s focus on strengthening international linkages and applied research.
The session concluded with closing remarks by Prof. Dr. Mukhtiar Ali Unar, Chairman, Department of Electrical Engineering, who appreciated ORIC’s efforts and highlighted the value of interdisciplinary learning and sustained engagement with industry and international academia

Educational Visit of Shaheen School and College System Students to Isra University and Hospital, Hyderabad
A group of 30 students from Shaheen School and College System, Hyderabad, visited Isra University and Hospital, Hyderabad, along with their faculty members. Upon arrival, the visiting delegation along with their Administrator Manzoor Shaikh was warmly received at the Prof. Dr. Ghulam Qadir Kazi Building (Block A), Isra University, by Additional Director Admissions Mr. Salman Khaliq Bajwa, Deputy Registrar Admissions Mr. Sher Ali Junejo, Mr. Israr Solangi, Manager Isra Hospital, Mr. Waqar Kazi, Incharge Billing, Ms. Mehwish Baloch, Manager IPD, and Ms. Preet Raza Rajpar, Incharge Pharmacy.
The students were taken on a guided tour of various laboratories in Block A, where they were briefed by Dr. Rushba Khan, Lecturer at Isra University Hyderabad. They also visited different academic departments and laboratories, including Electrical, Mechanical, and Civil Engineering labs, to gain insight into practical learning environments.
Additionally, the students visited the Ghulam Qadir Kazi Central Library located in Block D, Isra University. Later, they were taken on a tour of Isra Hospital, which was facilitated by Mr. Uzair Saeed Arain, Manager Isra Hospital, who accompanied the students throughout the visit.
Subsequently, an introductory session on Isra University was conducted by Mr. Salman Khaliq Bajwa in the Lecture Hall located in the Main OPD of Isra University Hospital (IUH). A health awareness session was also delivered by Dr. Sunil Maheshwari, Assistant Professor and Consultant Medicine.
The objective of the visit was to build liaison between colleges and the university, provide career counseling, expose students to the university and hospital environment for informed program selection in the future, and promote awareness of a healthy lifestyle.
At the conclusion of the visit, Mr. Israr Solangi thanked the students and their faculty members for visiting Isra University and Hospital Hyderabad

Isra University ORIC Signs MoU with Aspire Pakistan to Strengthen Innovation and Entrepreneurship
The Office of Research, Innovation and Commercialization (ORIC), Isra University, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Aspire Pakistan on 16th December at the Vice Chancellor Secretariat, Isra University. The MoU was formally signed by the Worthy Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Waliullah Kazi, reaffirming the university’s commitment to promoting innovation, entrepreneurship, and industry academia collaboration.
Mr. Hassan Syed represented Aspire Pakistan at the MoU signing, while ORIC Isra University played a key role, represented by Dr. Kamran Khowaja, PhD, Director ORIC, and Mr. Haseebullah Memon, Additional Director ORIC. The agreement marks the beginning of a strategic partnership aimed at advancing innovation-driven capacity building and entrepreneurial development within the university.
Through this collaboration, Isra University ORIC, in coordination with its Business Incubation Center (BIC), aims to strengthen the entrepreneurial ecosystem on campus by providing students, faculty, and startups with access to innovation-focused training, mentorship, and industry-driven learning opportunities. The partnership with Aspire Pakistan is expected to enhance startup development, promote commercialization of ideas, and support the growth of technology-enabled and innovation-led ventures emerging from Isra University

The Ceramic Dental Laboratory, Prosthodontics Department, Isra Dental College, Hyderabad Inaugurated
The Ceramic Dental Laboratory at Prosthodontics Department of Isra Dental College, Hyderabad, was inaugurated on 28th November 2025, under the vision of further advancement in the field of Prosthodontics. This facility marks a significant milestone in the commitment to advancing dental education, research, and patient care. The laboratory is equipped with ceramic processing units and advanced materials to provide students and faculty with hands-on experience in contemporary prosthodontics and restorative dentistry.
Ribbon-cutting and formal inauguration ceremony was led by Dr. Salman Shafique and Dr. Maqsood Ahmed Soomro. The ceremony was organized by Dr. Farzana Memon with support from faculty of prosthodontics department and Mr. Shahbaz, ceramic dental lab technician.
Addressing the occasion, Dr. Maqsood Ahmed Soomro, emphasized that this facility of ceramic dental lab is not only beneficial for students but also for continuous learning, ethical practice and service provided to humanity. This lab will inspire innovation, nurture talent, and contribute to the noble mission of dentistry.
The Dean, Faculty of Dentistry and Allied Science, Dr. Salman Shafique, congratulated and encouraged the struggle of the Prosthodontics Department.
