th highest possible aims. The IBTEDA Foundation Pakistan is a response to the fact that the global village is crying for a pluralistic, development friendly and a peace loving human society. The selfless volunteers are endeavoring to achieve this mission in collaboration with public-private & GO-NGO (Government Organization-Non Government Organization)& National-International partnerships. The IBTEDA (Initiatives for Brotherhood Through Education & Development Adventures) Foundation is one of such initiatives in Pakistan. The Foundation established in the year 2000 was formally registered in April, 2005 with the Government of Pakistan, Directorate of Social Welfare bearing Registration # DOSWWD&BM/RWP/2005-058/2005 under Registration & Control Ordinance 1961(XLVI of 1961). It is also affiliated with United Religions Initiatives (URI), USA. The URI enjoys the status of an affiliated NGO of the United Nations and has been endeavoring as Cooperation Circle Member cm Coordinator for Pakistan for the URI Global Council, Sans Francisco-USA . It is a broad-based, non –political, not for profit and a democratic organizational set-up endeavoring for advocacy, welfare, relief and a development through holistic and a participatory working model at the grassroots level for advocacy, welfare, relief and a development through holistic and a participatory working model at the grassroots level. It has been working for poorest of the poor It has the motto of “Reaching the un-reached and serving the un-served”. It is established to create a new generation of peace workers, peace defenders, and peace negotiators towards catalyzing positive changes in the Pakistani community towards prevention of conflicts and promotion and sustenance of peace in the multi-ethnic, multi-cultural Pakistan and beyond. IBTEDA Foundation has been playing the vital role of creating awareness among citizens about the interfaith harmony, peace, tolerance and respect for all on the basis of humanity and develop a sense of brotherhood and belongingness amongst all members of the Pakistani nation irrespective of their cast creed and race. The head-office of the NGO is at Islamabad with sub-offices at all the provinces including AJK (Azad Jammu & Kashmir). It has a chain of 262 members spread throughout the country. The gender balance has been given due importance in the NGO membership. It has 150 female members (100 from urban and 50 from rural side) and 112 male members (62 from urban and 50 from rural side). The membership has been classified into the ordinary, life time and the executive . The executive members are elected for the duration of two years. IBTEDA Foundation has made a lot of achievements and yet a lot has to be achieved in collaboration with all the ongoing and potential stakeholders.
