Pakistan Institute of Rehabilitation Sciences PIRS Conducts HEC recognized Degree Courses in the field of OPTOMETRY, AUDIOLOGY and PROSTHETICS & O audiology and orthotics and prosthetics.

Pakistan Institute of Rehabilitation Sciences (PIRS) was established in 2012 but the vigour and vision was there since long. On 25th November 2007, in a meeting it was recommended that a institute for rehabilitation to be established with a mandate to develop human resource that would meet the service need of persons with disabilities . This paved the way towards formation of PIRS

Mandate of the Institute is to develop professionals fully competent enough in utilizing selected skills and knowledge in organizing and directing programs for the care and empowerment of people with disabilities


It has been established by the CHEF-International at the Islamabad Campus of ISRA University. Pakistan Institute of Rehabilitation Sciences (PIRS) was inaugurated formally by Dr. Javaid R. Laghari, the Chairman Higher Education Commission, on 18th of October 2012. The four year degree cources and diploma programs are offered
BS programs in optometry. are regularly conducted.
