Sports for Peace is a non government organization based in Islamabad the capital city of Pakistan. It is formed to promote peace and sportsman spirit by motivation of youth through encouragement and training young players in the games of their interest. SFP is founded to reduce violence and crimes especially in youth by providing them more and more opportunities for sports and exposing their young
minds to recreation and other healthy activities. Sports For Peace aims at building a healthy society by directing its contribution towards healthy, humble and progressive generations. We want to introduce and promote sports culture in Pakistan. We organize training seminars, competitions of different sports very often in collaboration with schools, colleges, universities and affiliated clubs. Apart from sports we are aiming at conservation of wild life, environment and nature through eco and cultural tourism. WHY SPORTS FOR PEACE FORMED
In big cities due to population explosion the property and land is very much costly. Parks and play grounds are not only scarce but these facilities are vanishing under huge buildings and plazas. In the near past, youngsters used to play on roads and into the streets but in current situation it has become impossible due to heavily flooding traffic on the roads. SPORTS FOR PEACE is organized to bring a positive social change. Few years back a survey was conducted on the effects of sports and games on youth. The results were very positive. It was found that those boys and girls who play games and participate in sports regularly were more healthy, courageous disciplined and less violent as compared to those who do not participate in games. They were having humbled and friendly behavior. They believe in friendship and brotherhood rather than fights or quarrels. Sports activities make people friendly with their fellows at their educational institutions and at their neighborhoods. These results are a source of inspiration to organized sports for peace. Sports for Peace are aiming at outdoor games as well as on indoor games. It is obvious that in a football or cricket stadium only short number of players can enjoy the right to play apart from millions of expanses on building such costly facilities. Our aim is to build multiple sports facilities for both in and outdoor games where large number of young boys and girls can enjoy sports and recreation under proper supervision. Coaching in various sports such as table tennis, Martial arts, Gymnastics, wrestling, Squash, Swimming along with football, basketball, volleyball, tennis and other adventure sports is provided very scarcely. We want to build a model gymnasium or a mini sports complex as first step. But as we are well aware of present situation of our country our government is facing number of problems therefore very important issues such as lack of proper, secure and well managed sports and recreational facilities are getting neglected. Under these circumstances even the well established sports are declining in our country. We are looking forward to provide our youth plenty full facilities of sports and recreation with the involvement of community, civil society and private sector as well as relevant government authorities and departments. Financial Supports:
Finance plays role of life blood in any organization to execute its projects. We want to involve community, civil society, government organizations, and local and foreign donor agencies to fund our projects for different time periods. Also fund raising dinners, musical evenings and fun fairs will be organized. Fund raising campaigns, public service massages will be launched on internet print and electronic media.
