Most children have a natural creative streak, but as anyone who has tried it knows, getting an idea out of your head and onto a piece of paper can be very challenging! The aim of this course is to develop children’s confidence and enjoyment of the English Language through activity-based learning. This course will help build your child’s writing skills, help him / her find new sources of inspiratio

ns and learn how to stretch the imagination, all in his / her own individual literary style. Your child will acquire creative thinking, grammar, punctuation, spelling, vocabulary building and composition writing skills. He/She will also be introduced to the essential "Process of Writing", a 6-step process: brainstorm, web, write, make improvements, correct errors and publish. Children will be provided with a variety of templates and tips to guide them in making up their own stories and at the same time trying different approaches throughout the course to help them discover what methods work best for them. Children will get to try out new ideas and techniques in a supportive and an enjoyable setting. Register now for your child's placement for this course as limited seats are available.

INFORMATIVE WRITING
Informative writing is writing with the purpose to inform. It might be in the form of an instruction manual, an academic journal, an encyclopedia or even just the back of a box of cereal. Anything that is written with the aim to explain a topic to the reader is informative writing - the reader will often come away having learned something new and interesting. Having prior knowledge about the topic makes writing all the more fun! After that students can gather relevant information from a variety of sources as part of the research and prewriting process for their informational essay.
