FAST-NUCES Islamabad Campus Hosts Prof. Dr. Yusuf Mahbubul Islam for Workshop Series and Academic Exchange

The International Education Office (IEO), FAST-NUCES Islamabad Campus, hosted Prof. Dr. Yusuf Mahbubul Islam, Vice Chancellor and Professor at Southeast University, Bangladesh, for a two-day workshop series on 21–22 September 2026.

The sessions explored cognitive approaches to learning programming logic and a structured approach to Qur'anic studies, engaging students and faculty from FAST-NUCES and Riphah International University.

As part of his visit, Prof. Dr. Islam also presented a copy of his book to the FAST-NUCES Library, contributing to the university’s academic resources and further strengthening the spirit of knowledge-sharing and academic collaboration.

The IEO extends its appreciation to Prof. Dr. Islam for his valuable insights, generosity, and meaningful engagement with the FAST-NUCES community.

The Office of Institutional Quality Assessment and Effectiveness (IQAE), FAST-NUCES Islamabad Campus, conducted the Campus-Level Selection Committee Meeting for the Best University Teacher Award 2025–26 on Wednesday, September 23, 2026. The proceedings were initiated by Dr. Hammad Majeed, Director of IQAE, and brought together Heads of Schools and Departments representing Computing, Engineering, Management, and Science & Humanities.

The evaluation was further strengthened by the valuable participation of distinguished External Subject Experts, who brought domain-specific expertise to the assessment process: Prof. Dr. Ayyaz Hussain - Quaid-i-Azam University (QAU), Islamabad, Prof. Dr. Zunera Jalil - Air University (AU), Islamabad, Dr. Fawad Salam Khan - Air University (AU), Islamabad, Dr. Asfia Obaid - NUST Business School (NBS), Islamabad, Dr. Nadeem Ahmad Khan - Pakistan Institute of Development Economics (PIDE), Islamabad, and Dr. Sohail Nadeem - Quaid-i-Azam University (QAU), Islamabad.

The committee undertook a comprehensive review and evaluation of the submitted applications in accordance with the prescribed criteria, with academic leadership and external experts contributing to a structured and domain-specific evaluation process.

FAST-NUCES Islamabad Campus signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Pakistan Telecommunication Mobile Limited (PTML), representing Ufone and Telenor, on September 23, 2026, at the Director’s Office Meeting Room.

The MOU focuses on providing exclusive discounted Call, SMS, and Internet packages for FAST-NUCES students, faculty, and staff, offering enhanced connectivity and value-added services to the FAST-NUCES community.

The FAST NUCES Islamabad Campus, Office of Research, Innovation & Commercialization (ORIC), led by the Director of ORIC, successfully conducted a workshop yesterday to facilitate faculty members interested in applying for the National Research Program for Universities (NRPU) – HEC Pakistan 2026–27 Call for Research Proposals.

Held in hybrid mode—physical participation at the Islamabad Campus and virtual access via Zoom/Google Meet for faculty across all FAST-NUCES campuses—the session brought together researchers from across the university for a highly engaging and informative discussion.

The workshop covered: Eligibility criteria for NRPU 2026–27 Guidance on preparing strong research proposals/applications Key HEC requirements and submission essentials In-depth focus on writing an effective Stage-1 proposal.

We're delighted to share that faculty members from all FAST-NUCES campuses actively participated and shared extremely positive feedback—particularly appreciating the practical guidance on structuring and writing the Stage-1 proposal.

The Campus HR Department at FAST-NUCES Islamabad Campus, in collaboration with the FAST School of Engineering, conducted a Health and Safety Awareness Session on September 17, 2026.

The session focused on practical ways to promote a safer and more secure campus environment, with faculty, staff, and students actively participating in the event.

A special thanks to our guest speaker, Mr. Saad Usman Shah (Incharge, Health & Safety, Bestway Cement Limited), for sharing valuable real-world insights on workplace safety and hazard prevention.

We also deeply appreciate the support and collaboration of the FAST School of Engineering faculty members—Prof. Dr. Muhammad Tariq (Head, School of Engineering), Dr. Niaz Ahmed (HoD, Electrical Engineering), and Dr. Muhammad Awais (Assistant Professor, Electrical Engineering).

Lastly, we recognize Mr. Ch Adnan Shafaqat Sandhu (Manager HR) and the Campus HR team for their leadership in successfully bringing this event together.
