How to Open Microsoft Word
If you have Word 2013, you'll see a screen like this..
Most of the time, you'll want to click on Blank Document. Click on that now and you'll see Word 2013 open. It will then look like the screen in the image below (Word 2010 will be be very similar to this one, as well);

If you're not sure how to open up Microsoft Word, then do the following.
For Windows 8 users, swipe to the right on your Start screen and you should see an icon for Word, as in the following image:

Here's an office related tip, if you ever need a scanned document converted to text quickly, go to www.newocr.com
The interface is simple:
>Choose a document
> Click preview
> Adjust your scan area if necessary
> Then click on the OCR button to convert the scanned document to text.
> Highlight and Copy the text or choose the download option
There's even a dropdown for choosing your language!
