A one-day Seerah conference titled “Message of Seerah for Youth” was hosted by Islamabad Model College for Girls (PG) F-7/2, Islamabad under the auspices of the National Rahmatul-lil-Aalameen Wa Khatamun Nabiyyin Authority (NRKNA), in collaboration with the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training and Federal Directorate of Education. The hosting of this important national-level educational event provided the college with a valuable opportunity to demonstrate its commitment to excellence, character building and the promotion of Seerah-based learning among the youth.
The conference was graced by Mr. Ataullah Tarar, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, as the Chief Guest. Chairman NRKNA, Dr. Khurshid Ahmad Nadeem was present on the occasion along with Mr. Hassan Saqlain (Additional Secretary, MoFE&PT) and Mr. Javed Iqbal Mirza (Director General, FDE). The limelight was also on the principal of the host college, Prof. Dr. Fauzia Tanveer Sheikh, who had co-ordinated tirelessly to make the event a success. The event was attended by the principals and representatives of educational institutions working under FDE.
The students of BS Islamic Studies (Semesters 1, 3, 5 and 7) and BS Chemistry (Semesters 5 and 7) from the host college participated with enthusiasm and keen interest.
The conference focused on the timeless message of the Seerah of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (p.b.u.h) and the earnest efforts of NRKNA in solving the challenges confronting young people through it. The welcome address was presented by the respected Director General (FDE), Mr. Javed Iqbal Mirza. He welcomed the distinguished guests and talked at length about the supreme personality of Prophet Muhammad (p.b.u.h) by highlighting his qualities of truthfulness, compassion, justice, patience, tolerance, discipline and responsible leadership, emphasizing their importance in developing morally responsible and productive citizens.
Mr. Hassan Saqlain encouraged the students to view the Seerah not merely as a educational subject but as a practical model for personal conduct, academic integrity, social responsibility and peaceful coexistence. He informed that training sessions for the educators of the federal educational institutions will be arranged soon in this regard.
The keynote address was given by Chairman NRKNA, Mr. Khurshid Ahmad Nadeem. His address underscored the importance of propagation of Seerah in addressing contemporary social and ethical issues. He discussed the poetry in Javed Nama by Allama Iqbal which emphasizes that following the Sunnah (p.b.u.h) is the ultimate path to success and contentment for the youth. He concluded by expressing gratitude to the Government of Pakistan for its patronage and unconditional support to the cause of NRKNA.
The honourable Chief Guest, Mr. Ataullah Tarar, started the address with a few verses of the Holy Quran, expressing the significance of the arrival of Prophet Muhammad (The Chosen One) in this world. He said that his (p.b.u.h) message is not limited to Muslims only, rather it extends to all civilizations and all times. He put a spotlight on the various teachings of Prophet Muhammad (p.b.u.h), which provided the perfect beacon for the youth. The honourable minister reiterated the commitment of the Government of Pakistan, especially the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, in facilitating the relevant authority to make the youth of the nation aware of the impactful teachings of the Holy Prophet (p.b.u.h) through social media platforms. In the end, he thanked the organisers of the event for affording him the opportunity to speak on such a special occasion.
Vote of Thanks was presented by Prof. Dr Fauzia Tanveer Sheikh, in front of the distinguished audience. She expressed her gratitude towards the guests, attendees, faculty and non-teaching staff for making the event a success, which aligned with the vision of the host college.
Souvenirs were distributed among the dignitaries, who had taken time out of their busy schedules to attend the event. Chairman NRKNA also presented a shield to the chief guest, Mr. Ataullah Tarar.
The successful hosting of this distinguished gathering further enhanced the profile of IMCG (PG) F-7/2 Islamabad as a dynamic centre of higher learning and character development, capable of providing a meaningful platform for national educational and Seerah-related initiatives.
