When operating near earth moving equipment and cranes, two critical hazards must always be on your mind — blind spots and noise-related risks.
It is easy to forget just how noisy a construction site truly is. Even in an emergency, your shouts and warnings may not be heard above the surrounding noise — leaving you with no way to alert others or call for help.
Always remember the golden rule — never approach moving machinery. Maintain a safe distance, establish eye contact with operators before getting close, and use proper hand signals or radio communication whenever possible.
Stay alert. Stay seen. Stay safe.
