This picture was taken 72 years ago when Percy Williams Bridgman was awarded the 1946 Nobel Prize in Physics "for the invention of an apparatus to produce extremely high pressures, and for the discoveries he made therewith in the field of high pressure physics."
Bridgman was born in 1882.

Professor Malik Maaza, from Algeria, has been awarded the prestigious African Union Kwame Nkrumah Award for Scientific Excellence (AUKNASE) 2017, a major recognition at a continental level for his pioneering work in nanoscience and technology and for his contribution in science for African development. It is Africa's highest scientific Award.
Two of PINSAT graduates would be working under him soon, one has already worked under him last year at the iThemba LABS, South Africa.
Professor Stanislas Ouaro and Professor Malik Maaza, both ICTP Associates, recently achieved important professional success, being appointed to a high-level political position and having won Africaโs highest scientific recognition, respectively. Full story on our website --> http://ictp.it/cajbj
