speaking part1 has 5-10 simple basic one liner questions, where you are required to give direct/ to-the-point answers.
The answers begin with an opening statement, a middle structure (2-3 sentences) and a conclusion.
After part-1 is done the examiner will say let’s move on to the
Part 2 is called cue cards or mini-presentation.
Examiner will give you a pen, paper and a topic card.
You will have 1 minute to jot down your ideas on paper and then speak on the topic for 1-2 minutes.
Don’t write full sentences. Just write headings on paper to save time.
Note #1: Part-2 is the most important part of speaking test and this is where examiner will most probably decide your speaking bands
Note #2: Your speaking is marked on the same criteria as part-1, i.e.
1. Fluency
2. Range
3. Vocabulary
4. Grammar
How to prepare for speaking part-2?
As soon as you read the question in topic card, write one word as an answer and build on it.
Note #3: The reason you write the answer ASAP is so that you can get more ideas about the topic.
