Parents in Denial: Admitting your weaknesses is powerful
Making mistakes in parenting is not as terrible as staying in denial, as denial will never let you confront and rectify the issue. A few samples of denial.
“my kid is pretty normal because ABC had the same behavioral issue in his or her childhood and she/he has outgrown it now”
“I know my child doesn’t need a therapist because she is normal and she has been brought up in a normal set up, it is just that she is hyperactive”
“I am there for my child all the time, so I am giving her/him my best, how can therebe an issue”
“I know I get too mad at my kids, but I came back from the office very tired”
“What else shall I do for my kids, I have compromised my social activities and I am with them home”
Admitting your weaknesses is powerful; it requires courage and strength to see your flaws and making an effort for self-improvement. In my opinion, it is the first step towards self-improvement.
Will kids outgrow the issues that they face in their early childhood?
In my opinion, thinking about outgrowing the issue instead of handling it, particularly when solution to the problem exists is as insane as waiting for the flood to come and let it make the destruction. Please wake up before a disaster wakes you up.
