This is an anatomical model of a lumbar disc herniation, also called a slipped disc or herniated disc in the lower spine.

What you’re seeing:
The bone structures are two lumbar vertebrae, stacked with an intervertebral disc between them.
The gel-like material bulging out from the disc is the nucleus pulposus — the soft inner part of the disc that has pushed through the tougher outer ring [annulus fibrosus].
The yellow structure next to it is a spinal nerve root. You can see the red inflammation where the bulging disc is pressing against or irritating the nerve. That’s what causes the sharp, radiating pain, numbness, or tingling you get with sciatica.

In simple terms: The cushion between the spine bones has ruptured and is pinching the nerve.

What is Myofascial Pain Syndrome?

It’s a chronic pain condition where tight knots form in your muscles — called trigger points.
These knots don’t just hurt where they are… they can send pain to other parts of your body too.

Common Signs:
Deep, aching pain in muscles
Stiffness or reduced movement
Tender “knots” you can feel under the skin
Pain that worsens with stress or poor posture
Common Triggers:
Poor posture, repetitive motion, injury, stress, or even lack of sleep.

How It’s Managed:
Stretching & massage therapy
Heat + gentle exercise
Dry needling or physical therapy
Stress management & good ergonomic
Key Takeaway:
It’s not “just muscle soreness.” It’s your fascia — the connective tissue around muscles — getting tight and irritated. Early treatment = faster relief.

Golfer's elbow, or medial epicondylitis, is a condition characterized by inflammation or irritation of the tendons on the inner side of the elbow. These tendons connect to the medial epicondyle, a bony bump on the inner side of the elbow.

Caused by repetitive stress and overuse of the forearm muscles and tendons, golfers elbow commonly affects individuals involved in activities such as golf (hence the name), racket sports, and weightlifting. The repeated gripping and swinging motions contribute to the strain on the tendons.

Symptoms include pain and tenderness on the inner side of the elbow, often radiating down the forearm. Weakness in the affected arm and difficulty gripping objects may also be present. Rest, ice, and anti-inflammatory medications can help manage mild cases.
Physical therapy and specific exercises are often recommended to strengthen the affected muscles and improve flexibility.

Tennis elbow, or lateral epicondylitis, is a condition characterized by pain and inflammation on the outer part of the elbow.
It’s often caused by overuse of the forearm and wrist muscles, leading to strain on the tendons attached to the lateral epicondyle (bony bump on the outer elbow).
Despite its name, tennis elbow can occur due to various activities, not just tennis.
