Nine Access Sites in Mexico Celebrate Women’s History Month with a Special Guest Speaker

To celebrate Women’s History Month and promote equity and female empowerment, Virtual English Language Fellow Cecilia Jerez facilitated an online cultural exchange between Canadian sales engineer and human skills expert Karine LeBlanc and Access students, teachers, and coordinators from nine different states in Mexico on March 22. LeBlanc, who works with technical professionals to develop their human skills and change their attitudes, shared her vision on how being a woman in a male-dominated profession has impacted her life. RELO Mexico hopes that exchanges with such positive role models inspire Access students to build a more egalitarian society.

What are the rewards and the frustrations of learning a second
language? Is it better to be bilingual/multilingual or to be monolingual?

29/04/2021

What do you remember about the experience of learning
English? Are there any anecdotes that you can tell (humorous or
otherwise) about learning English? How does it feel to try to
communicate in a foreign language?

29/04/2021

In what circumstances did you learn English (e.g., in school, on the
job, in an English-speaking/non english speaking country or elsewhere, from friends)? If in
school, what and how you were taught? Do you think the
school/college/university experience could have been improved (e.g., different teaching
practices/methodologies)?
