Shifa Center of Professional Excellence (SCOPE) successfully conducted the Neonatal Resuscitation Courses during the month of May 2026 at Shifa International Hospitals Ltd., Islamabad.
The courses were held under the leadership of Dr. Shehla Choudary, Chief of Neonatology, along with the dedicated faculty of the Department of Pediatrics and Neonatology, who delivered a comprehensive learning experience through expert-led lectures, interactive discussions, hands-on practical sessions, clinical skills assessments, and pre- and post-course evaluations.
The training focused on enhancing participants’ ability to recognize newborns requiring resuscitation at birth, perform effective airway management and bag-mask ventilation, understand the appropriate use of medications during neonatal resuscitation, and confidently apply evidence-based resuscitation techniques in clinical settings.
Participants actively engaged in simulation-based learning, practical demonstrations, and skill stations designed to strengthen clinical competence, improve teamwork during neonatal emergencies, and promote safer outcomes for newborn patients.
We extend our sincere appreciation to the faculty members, organizers, and participants for their dedication and commitment to advancing neonatal care. Shifa Center of Professional Excellence (SCOPE) in collaboration with the Critical Care Department successfully conducted the In-Patient Transfer Workshop at Shifa International Hospital, Faisalabad.
The workshop was held under the leadership of Activity Director, Dr. Muhammad Arsalan Ali, Medical Specialist & Critical Care Physician, and focused on strengthening patient safety and promoting safe transfer practices within the hospital environment.
Participants engaged in interactive learning sessions covering effective communication, transfer protocols, teamwork, patient monitoring during transport, and the recognition and management of complications during patient transfer.
The workshop provided healthcare professionals with valuable practical insights aimed at enhancing coordinated, efficient, and safe clinical care.

The Shifa Center of Professional Excellence (SCOPE) successfully conducted the academic symposium, “Reducing SSI through Simulation—A Hands-On Training Workshop,” on 4th & 5th May 2026 at Shifa International Hospitals Ltd. under the leadership of Activity Director, Ms. Arifa Khatoon, Senior Manager—Infection Prevention & Control Department, whose valuable insights and expert guidance greatly enriched the sessions.
The workshop brought together a diverse group of healthcare professionals, including consultants, medical officers, and trainees, for an engaging and practical learning experience. Through simulation-based training, participants enhanced their understanding of infection prevention protocols and developed essential clinical skills aimed at reducing Surgical Site Infections (SSI) in healthcare settings.
We also extend our sincere appreciation to Dr. Ejaz A. Khan, Consultant Infectious Diseases and Chairperson of the Infection Disease Committee, for his guidance and efforts in curating this impactful course.

The Department of Cardiology at Shifa International Hospital, in collaboration with SCOPE, recently held a highly informative session on Acute Coronary Syndrome (ACS) Pathway Awareness and Updates.
The session covered key learning objectives, including interpreting the updated ACS pathway in line with current guidelines, understanding the evidence and rationale supporting the revised pathway, and applying the pathway accurately to ensure adherence to protocols and institutional standards.
Expert speaker Dr. Asaad Akbar Khan, Consultant Cardiologist and Chief of Cardiology, shared their insights and experiences, and participants engaged in discussions on implementing the updated pathway in their clinical practice.
