Empowering Healthcare Professionals Through Breastfeeding Education

As part of its commitment to advancing clinical excellence and improving maternal and child health, Shifa Center of Professional Excellence (SCOPE), in collaboration with the Department of Pediatrics, Shifa International Hospitals Limited, successfully conducted the 5th Breastfeeding Workshop in August 2026.

The workshop was led by Dr. Masooma Fatima, Consultant Pediatrics, who highlighted the critical importance of evidence-based breastfeeding practices in improving maternal and newborn health outcomes.

The interactive sessions focused on the benefits of exclusive breastfeeding in line with national and international guidelines. Participants strengthened their practical skills in breastfeeding techniques, including proper positioning, effective latching, management of common breastfeeding challenges, and communication and counseling strategies to better support mothers throughout their breastfeeding journey.

The workshop brought together a diverse group of healthcare professionals, including consultants, general practitioners, fellows, postgraduate trainees, medical officers, house officers, and nurses, providing a valuable platform for knowledge sharing, skill enhancement, and professional development.

Through initiatives like these, SCOPE continues to promote evidence-based clinical practice and strengthen the capacity of healthcare professionals to deliver compassionate, high-quality care for mothers and newborns.

World Hepatitis Day 2026 | Together Towards a Hepatitis-Free Future

Shifa Center of Professional Excellence (SCOPE), in collaboration with the Department of Gastroenterology, Shifa International Hospital, and the Pakistan Society for the Study of Liver Diseases (PSSLD), successfully commemorated World Hepatitis Day 2026 at Shifa International Hospital, Islamabad.

The event brought together healthcare professionals, medical experts, faculty members, and institutional leadership to promote awareness, knowledge sharing, and collective action against viral hepatitis.

The scientific programme featured insightful sessions on:
+ The epidemiological trends of viral hepatitis in Pakistan.
+ Breaking the chain of Hepatitis B transmission.
+ Post-exposure management for healthcare workers.

We were honoured by the presence of our Chief Guest, Mr. Mohammad Aslam Ghauri, Federal Secretary, Ministry of National Health Services, Regulations & Coordination, Government of Pakistan, whose participation reaffirmed the national commitment to strengthening hepatitis prevention, early diagnosis, and quality healthcare.
