On the second day of a soul-stirring art exhibition at the PNCA, Parliamentary Secretary for Federal Education and Professional Training Ms. Rabia Naseem Farooqi and Parliamentary Secretary for Culture Ms. Farah Naz Akbar came together to honor the exceptional creativity of female students with hearing impairments. The visit commenced with a warm welcome from the Director General of Special Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training Pakistan, who briefed the delegates on the department’s tireless dedication to nurturing the specialized vocational talents and artistic skills of these remarkable students.
Impressed by the depth of the work on display, Ms. Rabia Naseem Farooqi engaged directly with the young artists, offering heartfelt praise for their unique visual narratives and technical mastery. This visit underscored a powerful state commitment: the government’s unwavering resolve to champion an inclusive Pakistan where every child is empowered to realize their full potential and share their unique vision with the world.

DGSE Empowering Special Education in Gilgit Baltistan through Four Weeks extensive Hands-on Training

The National Institute of Special Education (NISE), under the Directorate General of Special Education (DGSE), today concluded an exclusive hands-on training program designed to empower educators and students with disabilities from Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) on their request.
The four-week extensive training, held from December 29, 2025 to January 23, 2026, focused on "Capacity Building in Visual Impairment, Orientation & Mobility, and Vocational Rehabilitation for Children and Adults with Disabilities."
The training aimed to equip participants with practical skills needed to enhance mobility skills and techniques for Visually Impaired along with vocational rehabilitation and at promoting inclusive opportunities for individuals with disabilities. This initiative reflects DGSE’s commitment to extending support beyond the Capital ICT and fostering inclusivity across the region.
The participants in this impactful program comprised educators and students from a community based Initiative Hamrah Maktab Special Education School in Khaplu Ghanche, GB. These included Ms. Hakima Bano, Principal, along with Ms. Hijab Zainab, Ms. Khadima Zehra, Ms. Asia Bano (Teacher/Wheelchair user), Ms. Aiman Zehra, Ms. Nasra Batool, Ms. Hakima bibi, Teacher and a Student with intellectual and Development disorders Ms. Kisa Batool.
At National Training Centre for Special Persons NTCSP , the trainees received orientation on market oriented trades of computer graphics, block printing and design , beautician, Mehndi tattoo art , jewellery craft and wood carving.
At the conclusion of the training, the Director General of DGSE, Captain (Retd) Asif Iqbal Asif, distributed certificates among the trainees.The participants expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training, as well as the Directorate General of Special Education, for providing this invaluable one-month hands-on training. They emphasized that the skills gained would significantly benefit the Community-Based Rehabilitation (CBR) initiative back in Gilgit-Baltistan, contributing to long term positive change in their communities.
