Pide-YPDC

Pide-YPDC A project of Planning Commission Pakistan, which aims to actively mobilize the youth to participate in the socio-economic development of Pakistan.

The Planning Commission of Pakistan is entrusted with the task of overall development, planning and policy-making of the country. We at Planning Commission believe that by establishing a link between the Planning Commission, academia and youth of Pakistan, innovative ideas regarding policy formulation and implementation can be harnessed. In this regard, Planning Commission is pleased to initiate a

new initiative called "Young Development Corps (YDC)". YDC seeks to create a link of Planning Commission with the universities of Pakistan, where the intellectual/social capital of this country resides, but will also ensure that the youth be actively engaged in setting a positive development based narrative of the country. This will help the Planning Commission to revitalize itself as a premier development think tank with input from young and ambitious minds, and will also enable students from the selected universities to contribute to national development by applying their skills to solve development problems through an established university platform. The key objective of the Project is to directly involve youth in the socio-economic development of Pakistan and generate a citizen feedback system that prioritizes issues and shapes the paradigm in which all actors can act together in a cohesively productive manner

The country is regaining control. This new intervention is not a good thing for businesses.

As the welfare state expanded, so did public spending. Governments are fast becoming owners, especially with businesses. Dominance is manifested in new and old ways.

One reason, however, is that four old-fashioned tools — industrial policy, no-confidence, regulation, and taxation - are gathering dust. More government involvement in business is unlikely to produce better results than before. Click on the link in our bio to read our latest special report on why business and political leaders should be wary of subsidies and more state support.

Religious practices and perspectives continue to be sources of values that nourish the ethics of multicultural citizenship, commanding both solidarity and equal respect.
Historically, spiritual heritage has often provided humanity with the capacity for personal and social transformation. Simply put, for many people around the world, faith is embedded in cultures, practices, traditions and community values.
As a repository of symbols, a system of belief, a convergence of cultural rights, a structure of morality, an institution of power and one that challenges old systems, faith should once again explore how it can offer people a sense of community, a trusted authority and meaning for their lives.
