We write this not out of anger, but out of deep disappointment — and growing despair.
As students of the Department of Physics, we have come to expect academic rigor, discipline, and high standards. We came ready to learn, to work hard, and to grow. But what we have encountered, semester after semester, is not just difficulty — it’s a system that feels designed to break us, not build us.
When students respectfully raise concerns about teaching quality or unfair evaluation, they are met not with understanding — but with retaliation. It is no secret that certain faculty members, when questioned, respond by pressuring or targeting students, manipulating results, and continuing to teach without oversight. These courses are repeatedly assigned to them, despite consistently poor outcomes and countless student complaints.
We are not afraid of physics. We love this subject. But what we are afraid of is a classroom where learning is replaced with fear, where performance is measured not by effort or understanding, but by how well a student can survive unclear expectations and inconsistent grading.
The most heartbreaking part? Many of us have attended every lecture, completed every assignment, studied relentlessly — and still walk away with failing grades. Not because we didn’t try. But because somewhere along the way, fairness was lost, and ego took its place.
How can an institution that prides itself on being one of the best in the country allow such cruelty to continue unchecked? How can faculty members — some of whom lack even basic clarity in the subject — be allowed to fail over half a class, semester after semester, and feel proud of it?
We are not asking for favoritism. We are asking for:
Self-accountability among faculty
Transparency in grading and assessment
Basic respect and dignity for students
Oversight from the Head of Department
A sincere commitment to teaching — not gatekeeping
This is a plea, not just for ourselves, but for the future batches who will walk into this department full of hope — only to have it drained out by a broken system.
To the faculty: we urge you — reflect. Re-evaluate. Be educators in the truest sense. Because true greatness in teaching is not measured by how many students you fail, but by how many you empower.
We are tired. We are heartbroken. But we still believe change is possible — if only someone would listen.
