Turkish chef Nusret Gokce, popularly known as 'Salt Bae', loves controversy.

While his London-based restaurant raised eyebrows last year for being overly expensive, the Nusr-Et eatery in Abu Dhabi has kicked it up a notch with its prices.

The chef recently shared a picture of an AED 615,065 (over Rs 3.5 crore) bill that was handed to a customer at the restaurant at The Galleria on Al Maryah Island of Abu Dhabi.

According to the check dated November 17, 2022, the patron made several orders of alc*hol - including five quantities of Petrus and two of Petrus 2009, one of the most expensive wi*es in the world.

They cost more than Rs 1 crore alone and the Value Added Tax (VAT) worked out to over Rs 6.5 lakh.

“Quality never expensive,” Salt Bae said of the bill in an Instagram post, which was slammed for not being the kind of brag it aspires to be.
