IIUI Appoints Prof. Dr. Nadeem Ahmed Sheikh as Vice President Academics

The Board of Governors of the International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) has appointed Prof. Dr. Nadeem Ahmed Sheikh as Vice President, Academics, with immediate effect for a two-year tenure.

The appointment was approved in the 93rd BoG meeting held on May 11, 2026, following a competitive and transparent selection process.

Prof. Dr. Nadeem Ahmed Sheikh is a Professor of Sustainable Energy Systems at the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering and Technology (FET), IIUI, where he previously served as Dean. His research focuses on modeling, simulation and optimization of energy systems through digital twin technology, spanning computational fluid dynamics, thermofluids, and energy management. He has accumulated over 2,600 academic citations through publications in high-impact international journals.

University leadership and academic circles have welcomed the appointment, expressing confidence in his ability to strengthen IIUI's academic governance and institutional growth.

Dr. Asad Asghar Janjua and Dr. Mustansar Hayat Saggu, Lecturers at Department of Mechanical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering and Technology, International Islamic University, Islamabad (IIUI) performed the duties of External Evaluators at NUST School of Mechanical & Manufacturing Engineering Open House 2026 at NUST.
The presence of DME-FET-IIUI Faculty Members in the evaluation panel formed from the faculty members of different Universities, Government & Private Organizations such as CUST, AIR University, UET Taxila, COMSATS is an honor for our department and university. This shows the competence of our faculty members in their respective fields.
